I'll be reviewing the party space aspect of this establishment. This very unassuming building boasts a pretty massive and awesome play place on the inside that makes it a perfect shot for a child's birthday Party. To rent out the space it costs $200 for 4 hours. They actually give you the keys to lock up and cleanup on your own and do not have a staff member sit by and supervise. Any outside food and drinks Will need to be disposed of and tables wiped down and chairs placed back before locking up your event. As mentioned the play place is massive and a lot of fun. Kids love it but I've crawled up there a time or two myself and had a blast. Lots of obstacles to crawl through and around. It also easy to get lost where your at in the building when you there playing. Which makes it a good thing in that there is only two points of entry/exit on the play place and both are front facing. So that makes it easy to keep a head count on kids and adults alike. The decor in here is very early to mid 90s cartoon art style and kind of a throw back. The lobby area is pretty spacious and they have a counter area for serving food. You can use the fridge behind the counter to keep things cold like drinks during the party. Overall every party we've had or attended here has been a lot of fun. A different and very personal feeling experience as I've never really known another place like this to rent out and not supervise.

The locker rooms are near the pool and there are some lockers outside of the locker room for access by a family/ if you wanted to share a locker with someone. The app is the easy one-stop-shop for most info (including weather delays/ impacts), although the web has some info and printed schedules are available. The facility is clean and, with COVID precautions, temps are taken at the door and masks are required except when strenuous workout is happening (overall folks working out are choosing not to wear a mask) and social distancing is mostly available. I've personally enjoyed the convenience of the location, that the price allows both me and my s/o to enjoy the gym, always having parking, and times of classes -- at this time some classes require you to sign-up ahead (which I like for accountability and scheduling). I would recommend the Downtown YMCA to friends!

I was very uneasy about moving my children's daycare after leaving two excellent daycares in Louisville. Kathy Barnes is wonderful! It is important to note this is not a daycare center but a childcare ministry and is treated as such. Everyone there loves my children as their own. Meme the "chef" is just so loving. My daughter loves her to pieces. They are learning so much! This was very important to me because my daughter was used to this kind of enviroment in Louisville. They both love coming to school everyday. I highly recommend these ladies. They will take care of you and your children above and beyond your expectations.
