This is a lovely piece of parkland, nestled in the Wellington suburbs. It has been around a long time and is beautifully maintained. There are picnic areas, a playground, a very nice pool (only open seasonally) and a good cafe. Entry is free and there's a small car park available. If you feel like something energetic, several walking tracks go through here or depart from here. Take the great track up to Mt Kau Kau for wonderful 360 degree views over Wellington region and the upper South Island. It's a peaceful, green retreat. , read more
