Others have provided lots of positive comments on the excellent food. See some attached photos. I was, honestly, amazed at the service and the staff. We were way late for our dinner reservation but the manager, Aman(?!) was warm and welcoming. The bartender (name?) also doubled as a server. Very helpful with our cocktail orders. Extensive bar. After years, I was served my straight single malt in a chilled glass. Without having to ask! The server, William, is one of the best trained servers that I have come across. Ever. Thoughtful. Efficient. Attentive but not intrusive. (What's a guy like him doing in a place like this! ) The chef (name?) sent each dish out looking elegant. There were six of us, so we had three appetizers, four entrees and a dessert. Impressive plating! He visited us at the table to ensure everyone was happy. As you may know from my reviews, the experience is more important to me than the food. Given that this is a "mall restaurant!," I was blown away! My bride is an amazing Indian cook, and even she was pleased with the food. Above and beyond any expectations!

Loved the ambiance and convenient location inside the mall. Its huge and gorgeous. You can use the escalators near William Sonoma or the steps up if you want to be healthy! As i opened the wide doors, i was greeted by friendly staff and my nerves relaxed instantly :) The seating is comfortable, clean and multiple restrooms segregated in a corner and great food!! I loved the little details that our server took care of - water, welcome snack (3 samosas complimentary - super generous) and small cups katoris for dal :) In $62, we got: - Rajasthani dal - 5/5 - huge bowl of piping hot dal which is a mix of 5 lentils and so amazing - bullet cheese naan - 5/5 - my favorite bread here with green chili - butter naan - 4/5 - for the kid. Good thing it was not dripping with butter but was soft - chicken noorani kebab - 5/5 - steamed chicken topped up with flavorful chutneys - chai - 3/5 - beautiful cup and saucer and decent masala chai We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert, but will definitely visit again!

We were at the Khaki to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a great evening and we enjoyed the food here. Everything we tried was delicious, even the chutnies with Papad platter were good. Jackfruit cutlets, Paneer Pineheels were my most favorite from the evening. Gobhi Musallam was good too. I tried saffron lemon drop and it was okay. I couldn't get any saffron other than the color. Server explained that it's saffron infused vodka but it didn't come through. Overall drinks were okay, not as good as the food for sure. Definitely a place I will come back for sure though.

Khaki offers a refined take on Indian cuisine with a diverse menu of creative dishes from all over the subcontinent. Given the range of the menu, this is a restaurant worth multiple visits! We were started with a complimentary appetizer of cocktail samosas, crunchy turnovers with a filling of spiced peas and potatoes, topped with a drizzle of tamarind chutney. For our mains, the Achari Gobi Musallam was a head of charred cauliflower marinated with achari (Indian pickle) spices and served over a tomato-based sauce; and the Champaran Handi Mutton was a delicious stew of tender, meaty chunks of baby goat and whole garlic cloves in an intensely-spiced onion gravy, which had been slow-cooked in a clay handi. The Meen Pollichathu was a whole, bone-in branzino stuffed with masala and cooked in a banana leaf, served with coconut rice and a coconut-kokum-tomato relish on the side. While the South Indian flavors were delicious, the fish itself was small and boney and not worth the price. But my favorite dish of all was the Paneer Pinwheel, made of a sheet of paneer rolled with spiced dried fruits and nuts. The pinwheel was cooked in a tandoor (giving it a caramelized exterior), sliced, and served over a delectable, creamy tomato gravy (similar to butter chicken sauce). The nutty, caramelized paneer pinwheel and tomato sauce went perfectly with the flatbreads we ordered, including Tandoori Roti and a flaky, layered Laccha Paratha. Overall, the food here was delicious and beautifully-presented, and the friendly service was attentive and on-point!

Tried this place for lunch and overall food was good. The service was not the best, and it looked like the restaurant was understaffed. We tried the pani puri, jackfruit cutlet, chicken starter, sweet potato and pata chaat, bagara baigan and pudina parantha. Appetizers were really good, main course we tried was ok.

Had such a great experience at Khaki in San Ramon. The first thing that stood out was the ambiance -- warm lighting, stylish interiors, and a very inviting vibe that instantly feels a bit special without being over the top. It's a perfect place for a relaxed date night, a girls' night out, or even a celebratory dinner. The food was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed the Sweet Potato & Patta Chaat, Samosa, Parsi Chicken Keema, Meen Polichathu, and the Zucchini Ricotta Kofta -- great balance of flavors and plenty of excellent vegetarian options. The cocktails were just as impressive, especially the Matcha Mule and Mango Mojito. We ended with the Gulab Jamun Crème Brûlée, which was a fun and delicious twist on a classic.

Wow, we randomly went to this restaurant and it did not disappoint. People you have to order the purple potato dish. I told my hubby if all the travels around the world and Michelin restaurants this may be my top 10 fav dishes. I can't recall what it's called. Also their rice lager beer was so smooth and yummy. Bright modern ecclectic space with a few intimate benches and booths. Khaki hits different as an Indian joint with a noteably distinctive vibe. Seating is flexible to accommpdate larger groups as well. We were greeted with complimentary Amuse-Bouche Mini Samosas by the chef - nice welcome! The service was impeccable, highly attentive and thoughtful throughout our meal. Although not a white tablecloth venue our server elegantly scraped the crumbs and smudges off the table at the end of our main course - nice touch. We were pleasantly surprised by the bright flavors and the portions of each of our dishes: Malai Mushroom Chicken Noorani Kabob Parsi Chicken Keema Butter Chicjen Chili Cheese Naan The Butter Chicken in particular was a true standout with the wonderfully savory char flavors of the chicken in the abundantly portioned and decadent sauce. The handcrafted Gymkhana Gin & Tonics were very refreshing and not too sweet, an excellent accompaniment to the meal experience. (Side note to management: Perhaps best not to play with the lighting during the meal service. It was a little distracting, albeit brief).

This is our 4th time going there but unfortunately this time was not up to par. Food tasted bad and cold. Our chilli rotis were chewy and tough. Service was also not good. Although I don't think I want blame our server ( Jacob d) he was doing what any server would do but we didn't get enough spoons to eat with once asked and we just ended using what came with our dish. No biggie on that part I would say. But I didn't enjoy it at all this time around. Food came cold which I am not big fan at all. Don't think I will go back again anytime soon. We ordered biryani and rice used was small kichadi rice or once used for dosas making. Not sure if it's different recipe but that was also cold and not good at all. Hopefully they fix it or use rite type of rice.

The food is amazing here at Khakhi. A truly elevated culinary experience. We enjoyed the Butter Chicken, the Branzino, and all the delicious appetizers. And the service was spot on. Great new classy Indian restaurant in the beautiful citi center lot, and we finally visited this yesterday evening with kids. The ambience and service was amazing and even though we had 30+ min wait (they prefer reservation) , it was really worth the wait. We had the non veg starter - pallipalayam chicken and this was very well cooked with nice spices and flavor to this. Also, had the champaran handi mutton and the meat was soft and succulent and best with the tandoori rotis - chill one was pretty good. Hope to visit again soon.

Visited a 2nd time to give it another chance and the service was much better and food came out reasonably fast but I also came around 4 pm when very few guests were there. Unfortunately, this time I had a dish that caused me to have an upset stomach (without giving too much detail) and I did reach out to the team, but haven't heard a response yet. I'm disappointed at these experiences given this is a high-end restaurant. I expected a better experience from this brand.

A great new addition to bishop ranch, and to San Ramon area. The ambiance is great and very soothing. The food was also great we had the beef sukka and lamb shank Biryani were stellar. We also had the garlic nan. It was average The butter chicken was also good. The service was decent but It needs to get better. We had high expectations with all the hype. We came for the resturant week menu and were told that it ended yesterday the 25th, however, the couple next to us were offered the resturant week menus. We were lied to from the beginning. Drinks were better than the food. The food lacked so many elements. One of the dishes was bland. Another dish was so sweet and it lack depth and flavor. You can find better naan and rice at other Indian restaurants in the area. The prices here are pretty high for the portions you receive. Save your money, go elsewhere. Friendly service. Shout out to Alondra for helping us stay in the lunch budget and treating us with a surprise. Delicious food: beef sukka and butter chicken. All flavors were distinct. Generous portions of beef and chicken in the respective dishes. In other restaurants, there's usually not enough chicken in the butter chicken. Not here- very well proportioned. We were supposed to go to the Lot but went past Khaki so we decided to try it. We got there around 8:50 pm and didn't realize they close at 8:30 pm. They still accommodated us and our server, Jacob is so nice and attentive. Food is good especially the butter chicken. Next time, I would like to try the goat and maybe order some bread. read more

Anuja, host/waiter, was gracious and attentive. The beverage manager personally visited our table to go over the wine and whiskey pairings. We had the Malapayalam chicken, and the salmon tikka appetizers. The chicken was absolutely delicious. A bit spicy, but doable, if you're a veteran. For meal, we had the mutton (beefy tasting), in-bone chicken, the prawns, and the paneer pinwheel. In-bone chicken was superb. Pinwheel paneer quite distinctive. Dessert: tres leches, creme brulee, and orange cake. All 3 were very good, especially the creme brunette. Constructive comment: offer a white wine option in the pairing. read more

Another amazing lunch at Khaki. Loved the new take on panipuri w/ passion fruit. Great Christmas Day food experience. When we circled whole San Ramon trying to find a place to have a bite, we saw this Indian restaurant in City Ceneter. Manager greeted us with open arms. We ordered two chai tea - delicious. For started we had charred lamb chops - four charred chops crispy outside and tender and juicy inside, very impressed. Main course we tried coconut curry cauliflower coupled with biryanis rise and butter roti. This is a place we can come back again. Thank you for opening on Christmas Day. Khaki is newish Indian fine dining restaurant, though I'll probably put it between casual and fine dining. We went there at around 6:45pm on a Friday evening. The place was already half full. There signature cocktail and Champaran meat were good but nothing to write home about. Their Lamb Bihari Kabab was very good and their rotis were excellent. By 7:30pm the place were full and the staff were running around serving customer. From that time onwards, the quality of service started to go down. I felt that they had way less staff then needed for a busy restaurant like Khaki. For the price I expect more prompt service. read more

I was excited to try Khakhi mainly because the menu is designed by the chef of Tia Restaurant -- one of the best Indian restaurants in the U.S. and my personal favorite -- so expectations were high. The vibe was okay and has upscale potential, but there's room for improvement. We had a reservation but still waited to be seated, and water service was a bit slow. The complimentary mini cocktail samosas were a nice touch. Chicken tikka was decent but not the creamy malai-style we expected. The mushroom dish was good and reminded us of Tia's version (though Tia's is better). Drinks were a highlight -- guava punch and cherry cardamom soda were both excellent. Champaran mutton and dal makhani were overall decent, though the dal had a bit too much cream. Parathas were good but turned hard within 10 minutes. Overall, decent food, but with some refinement in service and execution, it could really elevate the experience. read more

I know this restaurant is new, so I really tried to show some grace -- the food itself was good -- but the overall service and organization definitely need work. When we arrived for dinner, the maitre'd seated us but forgot to give us menus, which she brought back a few minutes later. Our server never introduced himself, and throughout the meal checked on us maybe twice. After our appetizers came out, there was a long gap before anything else arrived. We later noticed our server sitting in a booth behind us, seemingly on break -- without letting us know or arranging for coverage. Even at a casual chain restaurant (Applebees and Chilis), that sort of thing is handled better. I asked two different staff members for yogurt, and the wait for that was so long that I eventually just asked for the check and had our food packed to go. When I paid, there was no "thank you for coming in tonight!" or "have a nice evening" from the server- bro had me tap and that's it's . The maitre'd was polite enough to say goodbye on the way out, which I appreciated. There were also a few odd moments during dinner -- the entire staff disappeared for a few minutes for what seemed to be a team meeting (complete with a loud cheer in the kitchen), leaving guests looking around wondering where everyone went. A delivery came through the dining area mid-service, and I was asked to move my baby's high chair so boxes could be brought through. It felt very disorganized. A few other things: only two bottled beers were available, and the taps seem to be for decoration. The chefs walked around the restaurant a few times but didn't greet anyone or smile -- it all just felt cold and awkward. Also no baby changing stations in the bathrooms, FYI! The food had potential, but service and management issues really overshadowed it. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return based on this experience. read more

You now essentially receive one large piece cut in half (two small pieces total), which is a far cry from the value they built their reputation on. It's disappointing to see such a dramatic decrease in quantity while the price remains the same (or higher). I loved supporting this place, but it's hard to justify when you're getting a fraction of what used to be a staple meal. I hope they consider returning to the portions that made them a local favorite. $5.47 for 2 halves totaling 1 large Naan is ridiculous knowing this is an inexpensive indian delight to make at home (I know because my family is Punjabi). Wanted to support the culture but I will be just making them at home instead from now on.

During that conversation, the same employee admitted that he had mistaken us for another group that had not cleaned their table. While I appreciate the clarification, the situation should never have been handled by publicly calling out and embarrassing customers at the exit. Even if a customer genuinely forgets to clean up, there are far more respectful and professional ways to address it. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated concern. On multiple visits, we have noticed that the overall customer service feels unfriendly and dismissive. Customers often seem ignored, especially those who come in for something small like coffee. The atmosphere can come across as hostile rather than welcoming. We enjoy the food, but experiences like this make it difficult to feel comfortable returning.

After my father's burial, we hosted a Khatm-e-Quran at Ruby Event Center in Livermore and again asked Zalla to cater, this time for 250 people. Once again, they came through for us. Every guest commented on how delicious the food was. Between the white rice, the shola, the kabobs, and the desserts, everything was excellent. More importantly, the compassion, professionalism, and service their team showed our family meant a lot to us during a very hard week. We truly appreciate everything Zalla and their staff did for us.

We recently visited, driving 50 minutes from afar and were looking forward to trying their food. Unfortunately, our experience started off on the wrong foot. The hostess at the front desk was quite rude when we asked for a table. She informed us that the entire restaurant was fully booked and they weren't accepting walk-ins, despite the restaurant being very empty. When we politely pointed out the emptiness, she claimed that the restaurant would fill up in 10 minutes. However, when we returned 30 minutes later, the restaurant was still very empty. It seemed like they were pretending the restaurant was fully reserved. The hostess's attitude and dishonesty left a sour taste. While we didn't get to try the food, the service at the front desk was off-putting. Having dined at many upscale Indian restaurants before, we had high expectations, but unfortunately, this place fell short. We ordered the Handi mutton with biryani rice, jackfruit cutlet, and a few other dishes, but none of them were served hot. The mutton lacked spice and the rich masala flavor we were expecting. Delicious food. We tried different dishes like Biryani, Avocado bell, Beef Sukka and prawns.... everything was Amazing!. Great atmosphere and neat place. Servers were on top of what we need. Brulee Gulab jammun is a must try dessert. read more
