Update from my original review in 2016, 9 years ago! No one answers the telephone number provided, and it is impossible to leave a message still. Ugh! The chicken bowl (mashed potatoes, corn, popcorn chicken and plenty of brown gravy) is now $12/bowl. It tastes good enough, but there are only 5 pieces of popcorn chicken in each bowl...not enough to fill any hard-working man's opu. Hardly filled my opu...and I don't eat much! And we in the islands are discriminated against. Why, you may ask? Because whatever is advertised on the mainland never seems to be available here in the islands. WHY??? Well...I know this place has bad reviews but I still gotta show some aloha. I just went in today. Place was DEAD. I mean...it seemed like it wasn't even open yet, like it was going through the finishing renovations before the grand opening. Two workers were chilling in the seating area because they were so slow. Now was my customer service stellar? No, not really, but can you blame them? There's no customers for them to even practice on. I actually felt bad for THEM. They had a sign posted stating that they're going through staffing shortages so orders might take longer. I don't blame them. Regardless, they gave me my order in a timely fashion with a smile and sent me on my way. My only complaint is the price. $25.99 for 8-piece chicken tenders? I visited this location on Saturday afternoon on 04/20/24 because I wanted to take advantage of the coupons to save some $$. Their prices have skyrocketed over the years & not affordable - $36 for an 8 piece or $70 for a 16 piece? Plus, you don't get much of a choice, meaning, if you don't want. wings, you're stuck. Especially if you order a 2-piece - can't get 2 thighs, or 2 breasts, it's 1 thigh & 1 leg or 1 breast & 1 wing. When I walked in there was no one ahead of me at the counter. As I perused the menu, a lady came over but I let her know I was still looking. She didn't even greet me & it happened to be the same person from the last time. She didn't smile, wasn't friendly, & had an attitude like she didn't want to be there but had to work. That day was no different except she actually cracked a smile when I said something funny - I guess that's some improvement?!? She's an older lady, local. The receipt had the name of Terry but because she wasn't wearing a name tag, I can't confirm it. I had coupons for 2-piece combo for $7.49, regular price $11.99 but it included a soda. Asked the lady if I could get bottled water instead since we don't drink soda & she said no, they didn't have any. So I went ahead & got the one without soda, which cost more but in hindsight, I should have just used the coupons, & refuse the soda, my bad. Food came up pretty quickly & a guy from the back brought. Dining room was empty but clean. Food was well-packaged. Ordered a chicken sandwich & it was ono! Hadn't had it in awhile & it was just as good then as before. It's pretty thick sandwich so I had to cut it in half. It has extra crispy chicken breast on a buttered brioche bun with pickles & mayo. The chicken was just right crispy & not dry but pretty tasty. Had the 2-piece combo for dinner which consisted of original recipe thigh & leg, mashed potatoes & gravy, & a biscuit, along with pkts of honey & butter. Chicken was flavorful & moist, biscuit was just as good, not hard & the mashed potatoes & gravy was just right for this combo. Overall, food was great but prices & the lady's customer service sucked. So I have not been to KFC in years!!! I was absolutely shocked at the prices. They are really really high but I wanted to eat here, so we went ahead and ordered. 1. My side order of coleslaw was priced different on my receipt then it was on the board. I never got around to asking about it. 2. Luckily I was dine in because they forgot my mash potatoes. I returned to the counter with my receipt and my table in plain sight. She seemed like she didn't believe me. She asked me if I checked all the boxes etc .. there was only 2 boxes so yup I checked. 3. I ordered extra biscuits but didn't get any jelly. Back to the counter. There was butter and honey in the bag but if I wasn't dine in now I would be missing jelly and mashed potato's. 4. Yup I still gave 4 stars because my food was delicious!! The manager here has no concept of customer service. Decided to come since honey bbq chicken was brought back and ordered it online. When I went to pickup they informed me that they don't/can't make it so gave me regular chicken instead. Let the manager know that I didn't order this and am receiving a wrong item. She would not even offer honey bbq dipping sauce which isn't even the same but a step in making things better and stated I had to pay extra for it. Drive Thru here make it a quick pick up dinner option. Prices were high. Almost $80 for a 16 piece meal. I opted for 8 pieces & a drink and my bill was about $60. They didn't have extra crispy chicken available, quoted me a 20 minute wait so I stuck with the original. Overall it was an okay experience. I blacklisted KFC because I always get itty-bitty, baby chick-sized drumsticks from the Waikele location. However, my craving for the Colonel's original recipe chicken kept surfacing. I even tried a copy-cat recipe and fried my own chicken, but it was a complete disaster and that chicken was not finger-licking' good at all. Last Saturday, after my daughter's haircut at the Navy Exchange Salon, I was craving KFC and decided to give this location a chance. I was expecting minuscule chicken pieces, but surprisingly enough, the drumsticks here were normal size. I ordered the $28 fill up that normally comes with 8 pieces of chicken, 2 mash potatoes, 1 coleslaw, and 4 biscuits. Whenever I order this from the Waikele location, they do not allow me to substitute the mash potatoes with coleslaw. I'm not sure why since it's the same price. Anyway, an employee by the name of KC, from this location, allowed me to make the substitution. When I told her that the Waikele location would not allow me to substitute, she thought that was ridiculous. Based on this experience, I will only buy my KFC from this location going forward. Spicy sandwich showdown! I've tried the Popeyes sandwich and I've moved on to KFC. This sandwich has a nice flavor with the 11 herbs and spices, and the pickles and sauce are creamy and tangy. The bun is nice and soft. Where is say it falls short of the Popeyes us in size. I'd say the Popeyes chicjen breast is about 30% larger. Nevertheless I enjoyed the KFC because the chicken had that familiar herb and spice flavor. All in all for around $6, an okay sandwich. read more

I am very disappointed with our dinner that we ordered from the Pearlridge location. We have not eaten KFC in months and noticed that there was no line in the drive thru the past several months. Can you believe I have never tried the chicken pot pie from KFC?? Yup it's true. So I decided to give it a try. My hubby said he liked it so why not. Well it did not disappoint. Flaky golden crust and pie filling that is creamy and delicious. I am glad I gave it a try. My only suggestion is if they could double crust it. I noticed the crust is only covering the top of the pie. There's no bottom crust. However it was very tasty with veggies and chicken chunks and creamy smooth sauce. FYI if they don't have any available it only takes 11 minutes for them to make one. The employees there were friendly and gave quick and efficient service. If you need a pot pie fix stop by. Worst customer service ever. Unfortunately, we have gone here several times because it's near our house. We like KFC, we just catered a party and spent over $300 and again, we were met with awful service. The food was good, but dealing with the manager and the staff is absolutely awful. Moving forward, we will make the drive to another place and avoid this location. We ordered so much food, they told us they only have dark meat,We asked for 4 Mac n cheese and 4 coleslaw. When we got home, we had 2 Mac n cheese and 6 mashed potatoes. We are not complaining people, but we were serving 30 people and not only ordered what we wanted, but gave an actual written list for them to see.
