A solid three-star hotel suitable for travelers. Nothing remarkable other than the size of the…read morerooms (including kitchen) and the convenience of a Whole Foods right across the street, but I think it's one of the better choices in the area. I found this hotel by asking Grok to recommend one in the safer part of Metairie, and indeed this looks like a decent neighborhood, run down in the way that a lot of NO is but not sketchy. There are a few restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance. It's Homewood Suites, so of course the rooms are large and include a kitchen, the hotel is well-maintained, and service was good. The first night we arrived, they had an evening wine and snack arrangement in the common area that was delightful. I got the gumbo soup and it was surprisingly good. But apparently that was just something they have once a week, because the next night it was gone. Breakfast was disappointing, but fortunately the Whole Foods across the street has a nice breakfast bar.

There was no difference in my room, it was clean and I had no issues. The breakfast buffet was different, while it had the items of a continental breakfast, there were also fried potatoes, tortillas, and a choice of pulled chicken or steak. The noise level was basically nonexistent but there were a few guest who lingered outside smoking and playing music in cars. Would definitely stay again.

We were given multiple excuses and what seemed like dishonest explanations about the (2hour) delay. When we finally got to the room, there was urine on the sheets (See photo attached). This is completely unacceptable and reflects poor management and quality control. The manager, Michael Bonko, should ensure that rooms are properly inspected before guests arrive. The only positive part of the stay was the housekeeping staff, who were kind and professional. Unfortunately, the overall condition of the hotel was far below the standards I expect from a Hilton property. The carpet was stinky and the hotel felt run-down. Hilton should be ashamed to allow a property in this condition to carry its brand name. This experience did not reflect the quality and professionalism typically associated with Hilton.

This place gets a solid 3.5 stars. Unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow individual reviewers to give…read morehalf stars so I had to decide to either round up or down. It was nice and comfortable, but I couldn't give this place 4 stars. To me that's near perfect. Again, nice place, but it's not that. LOCATION: Pros--easily drivable to downtown NOLA in a few minutes. Minutes away from the airport. Down the street from the mall. Cons--*right* next to the highway. STAFF: Pros--the front desk staff is extremely nice and friendly. No matter what time of day of night, whoever was at the front desk was pleasant. The first room I was given had a "stale water"/musty smell. I immediately told the front desk worker and Carla gave me a new room right away--no problem. They sent a text asking how things were going. And they were responsive! We had a slow drain and Michelle sent someone to fix it right away. I don't knock them for having problems that needed attention. There have been very upscale places I've stayed with issues. What matters to me is how well and how quickly they are resolved. Cons--the housekeeping staff has room for improvement. My traveling companions called using the room phone the first day to get new towels and they never came. We stayed 4 nights and each day they were slightly less attentive in the way they tidied. A couple of times the fresh towels had a hair! The sink wasn't cleaned one day. The beds were haphazardly made another day. The tissue box wasn't replaced although it was very low. Two days in a row housekeeping came at 9:30 am! On a Sunday why would we be out that early?! And why would you come that early on the day we were checking out? It was strange. The breakfast staff also has areas of improvement that could be made. Weirdly enough there's a sign that says you can ask staff if you have a dietary need. I don't eat pork and asked if any non-pork meat was available. Ummm no. I really didn't expect it in Louisiana, but I was confused why they even had the sign! The first couple of days they had trays to bring food upstairs. But the last two days there weren't any. And it wasn't that I was late for breakfast and they had all been used by other guests. I was pretty early. I asked, the attendant gave me a gruff answer that they didn't have any. They need more trays. BREAKFAST SELECTION: The selection is regular stuff. Cereal. Oatmeal. Eggs. A waffle maker. Yogurt. Juice. Pork breakfast meats. Bagels/breads. They did have some tasty mini scones. Those were quite nice. There was also one day (Saturday) where they had potatoes! Unfortunately it was just that day. There was fruit--apples, bananas & oranges. The bananas were always super green and the oranges always looked like they were just retrieved from being at the bottom of some bin. ROOMS/BUILDING: Free parking with entrances connected right to the rooms was nice. The building is older. It just is what it is. It showed signs of wear and tear that can't really be entirely addressed without a whole renovation. Nevertheless it was kept clean and welcoming. It's in a pretty small architectural footprint so the rooms are small--smaller than I anticipated. But acceptable. There isn't a real closet. Just a sliding door that can either cover a shelf or the ironing board area or the hanger area. AMENITIES On a positive note, they have a microwave and fridge. And--something I've never seen before--a little wire rack for groceries I presume (?) Idk what it's actually for. But we put our fruit in it. The green banana I got the first day was edible by the time I left 4 days later. The towels are on the thin/scratchy side. Not fluffy. So they are either cheap or older. The pillows likewise need some replacing. They are devoid of any fluff. The TV screen froze at one point. I never went to the pool but my room overlooked it. People were swimming in it often. It looked clean. ------------- Altogether, I'd wouldn't mind staying here again. It's convenient, the front staff/management was pleasant, the accommodations are acceptable. Although the food could be better, it's something.

It was pricy but I feel like it was a must when traveling across the country with your whole family for a week. They kitchen had everything you needed except for dish detergent. I booked through the Marriott app and must have requested a quiet room on a top floor bc that is exactly what I got- thank god. It felt like we were in our own tiny house bc we didn't hear anyone else at the hotel from our room. The complimentary breakfast was different every day. First day was bacon and eggs, second day was eggs with biscuits and gravy, another was eggs and sausage and the last day they had spinach quiche and some kind of cheesy soufflé maybe? They only had fresh fruit some days. Anyhow, this location was close to the freeway and close to Drago's and Acme!

Now to the Cons: We received the keys to our 1st room...yes I said 1st room....are we tracking? Ok, Once we arrive to the floor, we instantly see tape repair to multiple areas in the hallway carpet. Once we get into our double room, we don't immediately notice any issues until we start getting ready to go out. We discover the sink faucet starting to leak constantly. By day 2, I decide to go ahead & report because this is a business & repair is necessary to keep rooms available, right? Upon reporting, the maintenance gentleman makes us aware that it can't be fully repaired, parts aren't available, therefore 2 choices; stay in room with leaky faucet or move rooms (my friend elects to stay in room to avoid moving all her stuff). Maintenance then tells us about 30 mins later that now we have to move rooms because we no longer have hot water, secondary to the faucet change attempt. We then get to the front desk for room change. Per manager, no discount on the room pricing however, we were provided Dining vouchers, $25 each, for the 3 of us (up to $75 total). Ok fine! Now we get to our 2nd room, which is a little larger, corner room BUT, the shower faucet now has the same issue. At least it's spewing into the tub sooooo, I noticed the desk manager, as awareness, apology was received, No, we didn't change rooms again. Why? that room probably has a leak too. we're over it at this point. Dining: The next morning, we go to breakfast with the family & use our vouchers. Large open dining, plenty of seating, bar doesn't open until 4p so, no mimosas to ease the pain of our encounters up to this point. Being that we're in New Orleans, I expected a "wow factor" from the cooks but in reality, we got a bit of "fear factor". Let me just say that I wasn't expecting "sliced cheese" to be in an omelet or on scrambled eggs, nor expected sausage links to be in a croissant breakfast sandwich. what happened here? Who knows. The great thing is, the waitress remained nice & attentive to our large party. We appreciate you Ms Shelly. Overall, hotel updates, food quality & better customer satisfaction is warranted here; esp for those visiting with longer stays. More is expected from a Marriott to remain marketable. Let's get it together Lakeway Metairie. The shell is too pretty to be fooled with lackluster inside.

We were simply looking for something close to the airport because our flight was delayed so we needed a place for an extra night. While close to the airport, it isn't close to where we thought we'd be coming from or where we had to get back to. It's really a neither here nor there but I don't see anything significant about this location. The bed was pretty comfortable overall. The fan / AC in the room was noisy which kept me up probably the most but it was bearable not to complain about it. The liquid soap was nice (not watered down), and the room was quiet aside from a couple door slams. It's a nice room and interior but not really what we needed. I've stayed at Home2 in the past but I do not remember the apartment-like amenities. One thing I found odd was the bathroom door. If you were using the bathroom, you couldn't open the door from the outside to walk in (as couples do). The door slammed into my legs. It was a big door. Overall a room that provided us with a decent night's sleep. The gym was merely satisfactory. But very friendly staff!

Let me start out by saying that I have been a loyalty rewards member for over 11 years…read more I checked in at Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans/Metairie the evening of Tuesday April 7th where Renee was attending the front desk. I was not asked if I was a member during that check-in. On the afternoon/evening of April 9th I went to the front desk to ask for some bodywash as I ran out the night before. I had hoped that housekeeping would have replaced in during their visit to my room but that was not the case. I brough this issue to Autumn who said that she would look into the matter. When I returned to the room, I noticed that there were ants crawling on the desk. Needless to say, that I was appalled and began to feel unsafe. I took the following actions: At about 7:33pm I Spoke with Autumn about Ants in the room I asked to be switched to another room after they said that they would send someone to exterminate the room. I did not feel safe staying in a room that was just sprayed with pesticides. I asked for a comp night, and Autumn said that she could not authorize that and the General Manager would have to authorize. Autumn said that there were no other suites available, so they put me in a king room (609). Autumn said that the General Manager did not come in until 9:00am Friday 4/10 but she would email him about the issue. I went to that room (609) and put up my clothes. I returned at 7:58pm and Autumn was leaving; I then asked Renee if she heard from the General Manager and she went to get the Assistant General Manager who I was told was not in at the time by Autumn earlier that evening. I explained what had happened. The Assistant General Manager asked me if I had photos. She also asked me if I was a Marriott Rewards member. She then said that she would put me in a King Suite (204) that was supposedly not available based on what Autumn told me. She said that room (609) costs more than room 504 because the longer that you stay in the room the less that it costs. I asked the Assistant General Manager if there is anything that could be offered to me for my troubles and finding ants in my room. I tried to work with the staff to rectify the matter, However, unfortunately I ended up being very disappointed in what I experienced was not the Marriott Brand that I have been used to over the years. I spoke to the General Manager upon checkout and he could not be more condescending. I will not be staying at this location ever again. I also suggest that no one stays at this location either. If I could give less than a one-star rating I would!!!
