Simon is a wonderful instructor. I came to him after spending a lot of money with a different instructor yet failing two tests. After only 5 lessons with Simon I passed first time! He put me at ease straight away and gave constructive advice around my driving, sitting down to discuss 'focus point' that were letting down my driving and then setting routes to help tackle these points. I would definaly reccomend Simon and only wish I had him as my instructor from the beginning! read more

I learnt to drive with Simon, with no previous driving experience he was patient and relaxed and knew exactly how to teach without being patronizing and he made me feel at ease. Simon teaches you how to drive ensuring that you do not pick up any bad habits and are ALWAYS vigilant about other drivers on the road. I would recommend him to anybody!! read more

The instructor has been very good, extremely calm in all kinds of situations, teaching style felt tailored to my learning style. Coming to the exam I felt I knew what was expected of me, passed the first time, and found the test fairly easy. The reason I chose KeyStart was due to a recommendation but more so due to a review I found on Google saying the instructor teaches good skills for lifetime driving, rather than just plain test-passing. This is certainly the case! read more

After driving for more than 20 years in the right side of the road, I needed to get used to the left side in UK to get my full license. I had a few driving lessons with a instructor that I dind´t like so I decided to look for somebody else. I found Simon on-line after reading excellent review about him. I agree to all of them. Simon is very patient and has a great sense of humour! After driving for so long without getting involved in any accident, I never thought I would have so much to learn, but Simon gave me excellent tips. He not only tells you about the rule, he makes you think the reason behind it and it is much easier to remember and to incorporate into your driving. I not only got my full license, but my driving in general has improved a lot! read more

We specialise in all aspects of learner driving, learning to drive as well as PassPlus, & Motorway lessons for newly qualified drivers. Also refresher lessons for fully qualified drivers who have not driven since passing or returning learners who want refresher lessons for a similar reason. Also they have had to give up their driving for one reason or another and want to get back to it.

History

Established in 2003.

Originally the business was based in Kendal the Lakes prior to expanding to Lancaster. Primarily, at the start, serving the student community and latter moving away to help more locally based people as well as secondary school students to even out the customer base to cover Lancaster, Carnforth, Morecambe and surrounding areas.

Simon is a top class driving instructor he's very good what he does! He made sure I learned good driving habits right from the start so that learning the more complicated aspects of driving were much easier with this base of skills in place. He's great at explaining things clearly and asking the right questions to allow you to realise your errors on your own. Driving made me a little nervous at the start but Simon is very easy to get along with and has a great sense of humour so I soon looked forward to lessons and gained confidence. I passed my test first time and with no minors and am convinced I wouldn't have had that result with another instructor in Lancashire. He's taught me to drive above the standard needed to pass the test. Can't recommend him enough and what's best is his lessons are very reasonably priced. read more

I think keystart driving school is brilliant i had tried a number of driving schools and was most at ease with Simon instructing me none of the others even compaired to the standards he sets rite from the get go. i would definately recommend Simon to any learner as he is easy going and lets you learn from your own mistakes with his expert guidance. I really struggled with learning to drive, before I started with KeyStart I had given up on it completely, thinking it was something I would never do. Then I realised I needed a driving license to apply for my dream job. Simon was sympathetic and understanding when I struggled and helped me analyse my own driving. Having had 4 previous instructors I came across keystart and finally passed my test after 9 year under the red L plates. Simon is methodical, perceptive and was able to communicate with me in a personalised manner that facilitated reflection and improvement. A service in my experience not to be found elsewhere.
