These folks were recommended to me by a garage in Grantsville, also a garage near Boswell, PA, despite being over an hour's drive away. The Mercedes dealership had quoted me almost a grand to essentially replace the entire ignition lock apparatus, and I still think their re-keying (er, re-"tracking") several months earlier originated the problem, but I've learned this can be somewhat common to my car. Either way, these folks were the only ones willing to look into the challenge, and after a few days of research confirmed they could 1) do the job, and 2) do it for a fair price, not a price to simply replace every part connected to it and include worst-case labor scenario in case they had to cut the lock out. I had lost faith in my car over the ignition lock 'freezing up', unable to turn in place, and Keylock not only fixed it, they explained what the problem was and how they addressed it (and no, they didn't have to make public any 'trade secrets'; if you're like me, you like to understand a problem when something mysteriously goes wrong, especially when the official dealership says it'll cost almost a grand). Maybe most Mercedes owners can afford those kind of charges without blinking an eye, but I didn't choose this car - it chose me. And now I feel I can rely on it once again, thanks to the people at Keylock LLC (mostly the locksmith, who I would be happy to name, but guidelines suggest leaving individual names out). So if you're reading because you're shopping for a locksmith - particularly an auto locksmith - within range of Oakland MD, no need to read further. You can trust these people. read more
