First time staying at this hotel and it went well. It has a resturant downstairs, we tried going at 1pm but they said it opens at 4pm. We stayed in a room with a king size bed. Bathroom has pink tiles, it was so cute. Room was spacious. Had a fridge and small coffee maker. The bathroom shower didn't have much pressure, water was either super hold or super cold. The bed was SO comfortable!!!!! Air conditioning was great, we had it at 69 degrees. Hotel is a little out dated but still a nice stay. I enjoyed it. I loved how it was 10 mins away from everything. Great location. No pets and no smoking. We didn't use the pool but it looked inviting. I did enjoy this hotel. Nice getaway for Valentine's Day. read more

I'm not fancy when I travel and this place met my needs fine. I'd stay here again without complaint (for the right price), but yes I am sure there are better options available. It was one of the few places that seemed reasonably priced (comparatively) and had free parking and no additional resort fees. Yes it is a bit rundown, but if you are just looking for a place to rest your head for one night it will work for you and truthfully this was one of the most comfortable beds of the 5 hotels I stayed at during my trip. I did not take advantage of the pool, but did snag a couple juices, coffee and packaged items from the breakfast. There were no issues with the shower or toilet. I can't recall if we messed with the tv. There is a restaurant next door and it was walking distance to multiple places around town. It's nice to be able to not have to worry about parking, plenty of space available. Everyone was friendly. We had no issues. I do see that they are in need of renovations, but I'd rather stay here than somewhere slightly better for double the price. The website does make it look much fancier than it is. I stayed here last night thanking I would be able to watch the Superbowl on tv, to my surprise, I was not able to get the game on. Management had told me at check in about their New Mexican restaurant adjacent to the hotel and that the game would be on there. I had no choice but to go to the restaurant and bar if I wanted to watch the game. It was loud and noisy and the people who worked there would come to me and start a conversation. One of the Mexican cooks followed me over when I went to pay my bill, looking over my shoulder to see if I tipped. I don't recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone. read more

The window screen had fallen into the tub. The water pressure of the shower was minimal, while the majority of water came out into the tub that was plugged up.... standing water mid-shin took a long time to drain. The TV screen quality was horrible -- and had to change the channel volume on the TV because the remote did not work. The coffee station in the room is nowhere near an outlet. The outlet on one side of the bed does not work so could not charge the phone next to the bed. The front desk girl had to go into 3 other rooms to try and find an extra blanket because the one that was supposed to be in the closet was not there. read more

So this place has the look and feel of a 1970s vintage motel. As I used to be with the airlines, I've seen my fair share of hotel rooms around the world - some absolutely beautiful, and others disgusting. I knew what to expect when we booked this hotel. Yes, the building is old, has the scent of "old", the floors are concrete, the bathroom and tub are old and tired. It takes a while for the hot water to get to the bathtub. The parking lot and overall landscaping needs a refresh. But I was on a long weekend scuba trip and knew exactly what I was getting myself into. The bed was comfy, the pillows clean and plentiful and the AC was somewhat loud, but muffled the street traffic just outside the window. As other posters have said, if you are expecting the Marriott, Four Seasons, Hyatt, Hilton or even the Marriott Courtyard down the street this is not the place for you. But, if you are a scuba diver out for a good long weekend getaway, just stay here but lower your expectations. It is a basic no-frills motel just off US 1. For my 4-day weekend, I was only in the room to sleep, shower, and clean my diving gear. It is as basic as you can find in the upper Keys. Friendly staff and an awesome pizza joint next door makes this place convenient and acceptable - again, as long as you lower your expectations. read more

This is hands down the worst hotel I have ever been in. The door looks kicked in. Brown mold on shower curtain liner, king bed pushed up to wall between two full size wall attached headboards, no fridge, rotting wood around doors and dated decor with matted down water damaged carpeting under the AC unit. Additionally the office employee let himself in our room at 10:30 pm and argued with us when we cancelled 2 nights from our 3 night stay stating there was a 3 night minimum. A nightmarish experience. I'm here now. Room 124. And I'll start with I'm a hotel snob when I'm paying $350+ a night in vacation zones. If you are used to and require Marriott level stays, this isn't your place. HOWEVER if you need an affordable and convenient place to lay your head, watch TV, store your bags, and park your car- this is it. Don't forget you are in THE KEYS and a dive center of the country. Most hotels in the area are tiny, private, sandy, run down, and crazy expensive in season. The hotel harkens back to the motel days of my childhood in the 70s. But with 90s furniture and a 2021 TV. It needs a full gut reno to compete with Marriott up the road, but it's not trying to do that and isn't charging chain rates The photos people post are real but they are comparative and nit picking. The beds are clean, bug free (I always check), and comfy. I keep my sandals on in the room as the carpet is old and ripped away at thresholds. The tv is a 55" newer. Our room for 2 has an attached vinyl floored bonus room with a second king. Beds are clean and comfortable. The room is as clean as the housekeepers can make them given the age and deterioration of the structures. Deterioration is the biggest issue. The A/C is functional and keeps the room temp nice. Traffic is loud but again, the location is right off the main road. There's a nice pool that is gated and looks clean. Pool chairs functional. Coffee maker in room works but the main office has pots with hot coffee available. There is a large dorm fridge that is clean and works great. Small dinette set as well. We bought food and made our own breakfast and lunches for diving days. Don't listen to the other reviews. They are holding this motel to a different standard. I'd give it a 2-3 star when compared to similar style, age motels. It's a 1-2 if you hold it to a corporate chain. Addendum: cockroaches- found one hiding yesterday on the TV stand. I informed the office who had the housekeeper spray Raid in the area. It returned this morning. Can't say if it's infestation in the stand or the exterior doors that don't seal keeping the area wet. The shower hot water knob leaks spraying water outside the tub and there's a ceiling leak over the shower Dropping my star rating. read more

This place is a dump. See attached photos. I can't believe we paid $200 a night for this. The rooms are in serious need of repairs and/or updates. The walls are paper thin so you can hear the conversations in neighboring rooms, not to mention the television audio. The walls have visible water damage, peeling paint and even open and I repaired holes. The bathroom had mold, chipped tiles, peeling paint and rusty hinges. All the base boards were removed and all they did was paint over them. Both stairs to head up to the second floor were shaky/rickety. All the floors are chipped. The one positive? We did not encounter bed bugs or roaches, however, we were only in this room for a grand total of 9 hours (11 pm - 8 am). STAY AWAY! read more

We booked a 1 night stay with the Key Largo Inn for June 21st. On June 19th we called to cancel the reservation because we were not able to make it. This was 48 hours in advance of the reservation, and according to the hotel's policy, a full refund should be granted. We were extremely upset to be told by the hotel that we would not be receiving a refund. We pleaded with them to understand, but they were rude and unwilling to change their minds even though we cancelled in advance. We will be disputing the charge with American Express. read more

The other place we stayed for half the price had roaches, dirty floors and unsavory characters on the premises so we chose this place. It smells and looked cleaner than expected. Not impressed at all. When we asked if they had any bottled water as we checked in, we were told the rooms had water (He meant the tap). It was newly remodeled, in 1971. We stayed here for one night while visiting the keys. The room was decent and clean but the window in the bathroom had a gap where the screen meets the side paneling and there were many bugs in the windowsill. We had to shove a washcloth in there so the bugs didn't get in. Then the cleaning lady randomly came into the room two hours before checkout when we were still there and didn't knock or anything. The dude who checked us in was also pretty kirt. It served its purpose for a place to crash but I don't think I'd recommend this to anyone else. read more

I found and booked this motel through the Hotels.com app which lists the address as 99201 Overseas Hwy. I'm not sure whether this place is affiliated with Travelodge because I don't think the Travelodge site lists this motel. My friend and i were looking for a place to crash at the last minute that would put us near snorkeling/diving companies in the morning and closer to returning to Miami. This place was the cheapest and it shows. We parked in a gravel lot between the motel and Verizon store to check in. A nice older man checked us out, showed us where the free WiFi password was in the room and where the complementary breakfast was in the morning. We moved the car to the lot and settled in for the night. The rooms are accessed from the outdoors. Our room was old and run down, but adequate. The bathroom light wasn't working very well so we called the front desk and the man who checked us in came up to fix it. He had to make a few trips, but grabbed 2 matching fluorescent lights. After that I could see how the tub was scratched up, the paint was peeling, and there was some mold/rust on the edge of the door where it attached to the wall. The motel is located right off Hwy 1 so it's pretty noisy with trucks. The window drapes were pretty heavy and blocked light pretty well...or I just woke up really early. The front desk closes from 11pm - 7am. There is an outdoor pool. I didn't test out the WiFi. The complementary breakfast is limited - muffins, bananas with lots of brown spots, bottled juices, tea, coffee. This place is good if you're on a budget and just need a place to sleep. read more

We made a reservation on Expedia months ago. When we arrived they told us our reservation was now canceled but they still had rooms at a much higher rate. If one doesn't pay in full for the room online before checking in they will cancel it. We then rebooked online and got the rooms at the online price which was at least fifty dollars cheaper than what the clerk said. Later we heard this similar experience happened to other guests as they checked in. It sounds like a scam to me. The rooms have been renovated as best as a very old hotel can be. They are clean. Location is easy to get to and has lots of parking. Lots of restaurants near by. Ok to stay at for a holiday weekend. It is still one of the cheapest places to stay in the Keys. read more

Don't waste your money booking a room here! This place is horrible! Carpet is dirty. A mound of plaster appears to be growing out of the wall (possibly a feeble attempt at repairing a hole in the wall?). Baseboards were removed and painted over, leaving obvious marks along the wall. Wood frame around bathroom door was repaired with putty. Headboards for two full sized beds attached to the wall with a king sized bed in the room (just weird). Hinges on bathroom door are rusted with a maroon colored dust all over the floor, door and hinges. This place is rundown and creepy! Receptionist made us feel extremely unwanted on the property. Zero smoking policy on the property which they're website says nothing about. We never post reviews, however,this motel was simply awful. My family and I ended up leaving after having paid the 211.00 rate, without even staying the whole night. The hotel managers were creeping around our room outside for the several hours we were there and constantly telling us of the rules we were breaking... No smoking unless you walk out to the road...walk out to the road! NO VAPING WHATSOEVER..which wouldn't be a huge deal if we weren't adults who'd been driving all day and paid to sit outside of our hotel and VAPE (which harms nobody) while our kids swam. The manager of the hotel was unusually aggressive and exceedingly creepy when he told my husband and I that if we wanted to stay in his motel we wouldn't vape..this was not even the last straw. I 100% understand no smoking in a hotel. I do not understand not vaping on the hotel property....he said to walk out to the road..TO THE ROAD Outside of our window were two stepping stones that led only to our window where on the inside the curtains didn't close all the way. After asking twice about where we could buy a soda the first front desk guy told me that I would have to go to CVS down the road because their bar was empty on Sunday...even after explaining that CVS was closed and I only wanted to buy a soda or two for the kiddos.. We seemed to be one of only a handful of guests, which at first seemed lucky, until the other "manager" was creeping around the outside of the motel where ..creeping around our corner room with the stepping stones that led to our room window (and, no, there was nothing else for the stepping stones to lead to...there were two of them and they ended at our window around the back of the motel where the parking lot is)...So I express my annoyance...politely...that the first gentleman told us there was no soda to be had and we would have to go find someplace else (which would also have been fine had it been true)...at this point the "manager" kept stepping closer and closer to my husband and I, in effect backing us into a corner, then told me I could have a soda....it was like being in the twilight zone and we will never, ever, ever be back. I feel fortunate that my family and I didn't fall victim to some sort of bates motel type of weird scenario and we feel very lucky to have found the Hampton inn about 2 miles north up the road. Our short stay was creepy, invasive, overpriced, and unnecessarily uncomfortable. I do not even care that the room wasn't 5 star..I wouldn't even care if the staff was rude...I do, however, care when the staff is creepy and abrasive. DO NOT STAY HERE....RUN AWAY..FAR AWAY. With that being said , I had to find another hotel to stay at for the night which was a little disappointing due to the simple fact that my family and I just been driving for a couple hours late at night. Today 4/5/2021 @ 11:43 am I supposedly spoke to the manager GEORGE . He was trash as well. With him being a manager you would think he would ask questions or at least find out why I wasn't able to make my reservation. well he didn't . He simply told me that it was nothing for him to do. We checked in for an overnight stay. Myself,my husband and my elderly father. I asked if they happened to have a room downstairs,was told only the rooms upstairs had 3 beds. There are no elevators. My father uses a cane to walk and struggles at best to walk even with the cane. The front desk manager at the time, Mike, followed us out. Observed my father and then offered up a downstairs room with 2 full beds and a king bed...no extra charge. Yes...the place is dated, but the room was clean,everything in running order. Avoid this hotel at all costs. First of all, I was attacked by bed bugs on the first night which gave me 47 bites. We had to transfer rooms but we still didn't get any sleep because the walls are paper thin. The neighbor kept his TV on all night and we had to buy earplugs because of that. We told the manager to tell the neighbor to turn it down but he only knocked twice and left. We had to take matters in our own hands. You are better off sleeping in your car or paying more for a decent hotel. read more
