Every time that I've ever had it, it's gone away after a couple of weeks. This time, I waited a couple of weeks, and that turned into a couple of months, and that turned into half a year straight of daily pain. It hurt to sit down, it hurt to stand up, and it hurt to lie down. There was no reprieve. Every morning had become a ritual of coffee, ibuprofen (or another type of NSAID), and stretches just to be able to get enough freedom of movement to be able to walk more than a few feet without severe pain. It took almost an hour of every morning, and sadly, this had become my new normal. The human body does an amazing job at healing itself, but I slowly began to realize that my body wasn't going to heal itself this time. I started searching internet for what treatment options would be for someone like myself with a long term case of sciatica, and it wasn't a very promising search... Steroid shots in horrible places, surgeries that end in "ectomy," (in layman's terms that means that you're going to get something surgically cut out or off of you), a bottle of pain pills, and a long road ahead. There was one common theme in every treatment that I read about; they all treated the symptoms rather than the cause of the problem. That's when I started looking for treatment options that would get to the root of the problem. The aforementioned "morning ritual" stretches I learned that actually helped me have any quality of life for that 6 months were videos posted on the internet by Chiropractors, so I started on a quest to find a local chiropractor to help me. On a particularly painful Sunday, I searched Google, and that's where I found Meseck Family Chiropractic. I read all the reviews, and despite the single angry review about a sciatica issue that wasn't written by the actual patient and that seemed to revolve more around a doctor's note than anything to do with treatment, I decided to call and schedule an appointment. That following Monday morning, Ms. Rachel answered the phone when I called and promptly scheduled an appointment for me that day. As soon as I entered the building, I was greeted with a smile, and after filling out all the necessary paperwork, I had a very short wait time until I saw Dr. Jake. I was armed with everything that the internet had to teach me about what I thought my problem was (LOL), and Dr. Jake listened to my concerns dutifully. Lots of Doctors have this condescending air about them that I'm not even sure that they are aware of, and when they explain things to you, they either speak to you like you're an idiot, or they don't really explain things to you very much at all. That's not Dr. Jake Meseck! He was very thorough in his verbal evaluation, and he made sure that I understood exactly what he was explaining to me. After taking several x-rays, Dr. Jake discovered that one of my legs was almost an inch shorter than the other one. What a shocking revelation that was! I had been walking around in a crooked posture my entire life to compensate for my shorter leg, and it was catching up to me. It explained so much... Experiencing hip pain while playing sports, one shoe wearing out twice as fast as the other, why I always leaned to one side while standing up, etc. He also discovered other past spinal injuries that had given me mild pain for years. One month into Dr. Jake's treatment plan, and I haven't had to take NSAIDs in the morning for days now. I can sit, stand, and lie down without discomfort, and I feel so much better. Now that I'm standing straight, my sciatica is gone, and all of my secondary issues are feeling better. I had high hopes going into these treatments, but I had no clue that this man was literally going to change my life forever. I can't thank Dr. Jake enough. I consider him a friend whether he claims me to be or not at this point, and my family will continue to use his services from now on. I can't recommend Dr. Jake and Meseck Family Chiropractic enough!

I have been taken advantage of before and I felt awful. Dr. Moore is so professional and is kind and caring towards his patients. His staff is super sweet and makes you feel at ease from the first phone call. I have gotten so much relief over the years from him, I would never ever think about going elsewhere. This is the place to go!!!

I had not been treated by a chiropractor since my former had left TN in 2012. Anyone who has had chiropractic care knows there is an incredible amount of trust required for the patient to relax sufficiently for treatment to be successful. This past July I had neck pain radiating down my right arm along with numbness. My baseline pain was about a 7-8 out of 10 on a 1-10 scale (10 being the worst pain you can imagine - Yes, I'm a nurse :-) ) It was affecting my sleep, ability to function and performance at work. I was worked-in the same day I called by the very compassionate person who answered my call. Every person I've interacted with from my first phone call throughout all subsequent visits has been sincerely compassionate and more than flexible when I've needed to reschedule. Dr. Moore is considerably less aggressive in musculoskeletal manipulation than my previous practitioner, but my results have have been equally effective. My neck pain took a little while to completely resolve but I'm very thankful for the the consistency of his treatments and that he really LISTENED to me making me an active participant in my recovery from this injury. One treatment we tried actually made my pain worse temporarily, but he listened and explained why that had likely occurred, then we redirected my treatment resulting in improvement. I am an RN so I'm not uneducated about the basics of musculoskeletal anatomy, but Dr. Moore focuses on educating his patients above and beyond the mechanics of our bones & joints. He strives to help his patients learn to protect themselves from sudden injury as well reduce the effects of chronic wear & tear due to aging/daily living through nutrition, healthy body mass, and activities which keep us mobile, flexible, strong & improve cardiovascular health. He & his staff care about the "Whole-Person".

He didn't assess before or after. There was no CARE. We started talking about other pain I was having and he went into a detailed spiel about getting off sugar and processed foods and going raw (basically making it impossible to eat out or travel) I told him I have pain on my right side due to a stroke and I couldn't eat raw food because I feel digestion on that side. He came over and poked my ribs and asked if the pain was there and I pulled his hand away and said, "Don't touch it!" AND HE KEPT HIS HAND THERE AND KEPT POKING!!! He physically hurt me when I specifically asked him not to and then he told me the pain was from my liver and I explained my pain comes from the brain because it's from a stroke. This was just utter nonsense. When I left I had to talk myself down to not RAGE CRY in the car on the way home. He violated my boundary. He violated my body. He violated me. AND he gave me a bad adjustment. It was horrific. I'm shaking as I'm writing this. I will NEVER see him again. I am appalled.
