This doctor is thorough, thinks outside the box and really cares about the quality of work. Dr. Capener listens and asks questions rather than jumping to conclusions. Another thing I liked about this doctor is that he will have you try preventative medicine. I really have not had any problems from the work he did. I was referred to him by several acquaintances. One had their hearing restored by him, another who had him help with their thyroid and others who had toncelitis. He is highly skilled and can handle complex problems but knows when patients need the care of a different specialty and will refer those patients for proper treatment by the specialist needed. After so many people recommended him, I tried him and really did have good results. Talk to him personally don't just take my word for it.

I had a really bad otoplasty (ear pinning) experience with Dr. Lee. My ears stick out a lot and…read morethis has bothered me for my whole life, but due to the cost I had not been able to get them fixed. After a consultation with Dr. Lee, I decided to spend the money and I scheduled an appointment to have him perform "incisionless" otoplasty on each of my ears. This included placing one suture in the cartilage of each ear that was supposed to fold them in a way that reduced their prominence, for a charge of $4,500. On November 11, 2025, Dr. Lee performed the procedure and the results were terrible. I followed all of the post-treatment instructions, including constantly wearing a headband, but after two (very painful and virtually sleepless) days I removed the bandages and was very sad to see that my left ear looked the same as before, while my right ear looked deformed. The right ear was over-folded in the middle, with the antihelix (Y-shaped, raised cartilage in center of ear) bulging beyond the helix (outer rim of ear) and the top and bottom of the ear curved outward in a telephone shape. This was certainly a negative change, as it looked very unnatural, especially in comparison to my unchanged left ear. So the result of the procedure was no change to one ear and a negative change to the other. I believe this was a result of improper suture placement, with the left ear suture being too loose and the right ear suture being too tight. When I returned to his office a week later for a follow-up on November 18, it was clear to me that the procedure was not successful, but I tried to remain positive and hoped he might offer a reasonable solution. However, instead of acknowledging and taking responsibility for the poor result, he downplayed the asymmetry and said it would improve over time. We also discussed the possibility of adding another suture to my left ear, since it was unchanged, but he said this could not be done for at least three months. I left with the advice to pinch the antihelix of my left ear to encourage more of a fold and to massage the sutured area of my right ear to reduce that suture's effect, and to return to his office three weeks later for another follow-up. I followed this advice for two days, but massaging the right ear around the suture was very painful and it became clear that no amount of massage or time would actually correct its shape. I realized that the best course of action would be to promptly remove the suture that was deforming my right ear in order to undo what was done as much as possible, and at least have matching ears again. I asked Dr. Lee to remove the suture from my right ear and he did so on November 21. I believe that removing that suture fairly quickly (10 days after placement) saved my ear and allowed it to (mostly) return to its pre-sutured shape and position. It sticks out a little more than it did before because of the cartilage scarring, but it's obviously much more similar to my left ear now than it was before the suture was removed. Had that suture been left in for any longer, the return of that ear to its normal shape may not have been as complete, and I would currently have severely asymmetrical ears, with one being deformed, instead of the much more symmetrical and normal looking ears that I have (and had before the procedure). My ears are prominent, but otherwise normally shaped and symmetrical. Because of this, I don't think mine was a particularly difficult case and I expected to have at least a slight improvement from this procedure. I thought the price of $4,500 for a suture-only otoplasty was high, but after discussing the procedure during our consultation, I trusted Dr. Lee to do a good job and to treat me as he would want to be treated. I would have been satisfied with even a small improvement, but instead I experienced significant pain, distress over the worry of permanent deformity of my ear, and substantial financial cost, with no benefit and a slightly worse appearance than before the procedure. I feel that my expectations were reasonable and that the result was unacceptable. When I was back in his office for another follow-up on December 9, I requested a full refund of the $4,500.00 I paid for this procedure. He said he would consider a partial refund, but I did not receive or hear anything from him after I left his office. I made this request again by email and never received a reply. This whole experience hurt me financially and emotionally and I feel completely ripped off, but Dr. Lee did not seem to care. Trusting him was the worst mistake of my life and I really don't know how he can sleep at night. I hope this information will prevent someone else from making the same mistake.
