Could there be a finer place in Braubach to have lunch, than the Marksburg Tavern? The view from…read morethe terrace was absolutely fantastic, and the shade provided by the umbrellas turned a beautiful day into an outstanding outdoor dining experience! My wife, son, and I ordered the wild burger with fries, currywurst with fries, and the bratwurst roll, with half-litre bottles of Mezzo Mix, Apfelschorle, and Coca-Cola to wash it down. Our bill totaled €26.47 before the VAT, which felt pretty reasonable, given the surroundings. Service was likewise pretty standard. The food, however, was excellent! My wife and son really liked their bratwurst roll and currywurst, while my wild burger was excellent! The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy, while the lettuce was crisp, and the pretzel bun fresh yet perfectly toasted. Additionally, we all found the fries to be fresh, hot, and tasty. For good food with an outstanding view, I rate Marksburg Tavern as being Very Good, and would love to go back!

Yesterday, old friends took us for breakfast - and I hate to say it, but it was less than average, and the service was not only inattentive, but the execution was awful - and any product that did not come from the bakery was less than average. The salami and turkey was ... cheap. The four of us hated it. Then, it took three attempts to get a soft boiled egg - and it arrived 30 mins after breakfast. Once the service had cleaned our plates, it just disappeared. We sat there for another hour - as you do in Germany - and they did not even ask if we cared for anything else. I would understand if the place was packed - but at this particular time, two-thirds of the tables were vacant. They did not even bother to bring the check - we had to find someone to pay. Sorry, as much as I love your place, if I had to pick a place where to go today, I'd rather risk checking out any new place than going again. Good appetizers Every time, a part or one of the plates were too salty. (e.g. mixed vegetables which accompanies most of the main courses) Last time, the Tagliatelle with fresh mushrooms and Bacon were really salty. Bacon was totally overpowering the mushrooms...and this was on the "chefs recommendation" page 1.... The stuffed canneloni were partly underdone or dried out at the corners. Again we mentioned the deficiencies of our food but the restaurant offered again no compensation (coffe or discount).
