I was looking for a last minute place to have a massage to use up the rest of my benefits this year and stumbled upon Amaze Wellness. After reading the reviews I decided to give them a try. Appointments can be booked online and you will need a credit card to confirm your reservation. I opted for a 75min deep tissue massage. Day of massage, I was a bit skeptical at first due to the storefront of the massage place. They are located on the 2nd floor where you do have to take off your shoes upon entering. Never judge a book by its cover because as soon as I entered I was greeted by Nitchapatr who ushered me into a massage room. She gave me some hand sanitizer to use and left me alone to change out of my clothes. During the full body deep tissue massage Nitchapatr worked on some deep knots I had in my shoulder the most. She made sure that I was comfortable with the pressure throughout but knew that I was feeling some pain from my shoulder knots. She even offered to put Tiger Balm on me to make sure I was more comfortable. After the massage I quickly put back on my clothes and went out to pay. I was offered some Thai tea. Nitchapatr and I made small talk and she commented that I should likely come back for more treatments as my shoulder knots were quite deep. My body definitely felt the effects of the deep tissue massage. I felt tired afterwards but did feel great and had a good night of rest. Overall, great massage place, they definitely know their stuff and will treat whatever pain you are experiencing. Service was friendly and I did see that before and after my massage there were other people receiving services as well.

My wife and I both go regularly (thank you, company benefits) and we both see different people for different things (she sees Erin for CranioSacral Therapy and I see Alexandra for just a general relaxation massage). My wife says that it definitely helps her with her migraines and I know that I feel very relaxed, loopy and altogether better for at least a couple of days afterwards. So there must be something right going on! Alex always takes time to thoroughly inquire as to my current back and neck woes, tailoring my treatment to whatever ails me at that instant (sore legs from CN Tower climb last visit for instance). She's thorough, professional and very friendly but doesn't chatter all throughout the treatment. I'm happy to chitchat a little, but isn't being relaxed and turning your brain off part of the massage? She's also always offering up great suggestions for aromatherapy and other specific little touches as required...I'd go into more detail but I'm usually quite out of it by the time I'm done, so I don't remember too much. Parking is sort of a hassle (not their fault of course) but manageable. But the place is clean and quiet (despite being in the middle of a busy part of Port Credit) and the prices are very reasonable. What's hot - Quality. I had Catherine and she was wonderful. She reviewed my health summary and understood the issues I had and definitely knew how to address them. She focused on my problem areas, applied an excellent amount of pressure, checked in a couple of times during the process , and also massaged my temples and scalp a little bit. Personally, I love that attention to detail, because I've learned where my body holds tension and I appreciate it when masseuses can address that properly. My husband had Veraleen and she was great, as well. She applied a good amount of pressure to my husband's trouble spots and he enjoyed the experience. - Service. Overall, they're pretty good. I booked our massages through their website and they responded by calling soon after. They also made certain we each filled our a health survey. My husband forgot to fill his out and their staffer at the front desk ensured he did so before the massage started. - Facilities. Clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The room for the couples massage is a good amount of space and not cramped. There's only one restroom in their facility for the customers. - Location. Pretty good and easy to find. There's also parking nearby, which is helpful, because they're downtown. - Health insurance. My husband and I are tourists, so we paid out of pocket, but it appears they take health insurance, which is great. You can fill out health insurance information when you schedule online and I heard their staffer confirm another couples' insurance, who had just finished and was on their way out when we arrived. What's not - 50 minutes instead of a full hour. I'm bummed their massage doesn't go for the full hour, especially due to the price. - Price. To be fair, they're more reasonable than other massage services, which is why I chose them. As mentioned previously, that it's $129 for less than 1 hour seems a bit high. - Website. By the way, if you book a couples massage, be aware of booking each one separately. The first time I tried it, I double booked for myself. Their website isn't the most straightforward, so be aware of that if you're trying to book for others. - Construction noise. To be fair, they have no control over this. I bring this up so people are aware there is currently construction going on, which adds to the noise. Not pleasant, but it just forced me to focus on Catherine's technique, which was great. Re: Review of Linda and all at - HYACINTH HEALTH CENTRE in downtown Oakville, Ontario As I have…read moreyet to leave a negative review for a place, be it a restaurant or health centre or else in years and if my memory serves me right, NEVER, this review would be negative in an overall sense although there are some positive mentions in it, as it has ruined my experience at a spa I have been to three times before. I am a reputable member of the community, hold an MBA in finance and marketing, and successful in business ventures. This would be the fourth massage as the first three massages, I have paid for a longer period than initially scheduled and tipped very well. The first massage with Linda was very good at first and lasted for 1 hour. However, although I did not think of it much at the time as I came to relax at a spa, Linda waited until the last few moments of a massage to hold off completing it to try and extort more money. Since I paid in cash for 1 hour and very good tip equal to 1 hour massage, I let it go. Since the initial 45 minutes of the massage were good, I said I would go again and perhaps I missed something. However, during each one of the following massages by Linda, as if it were a tactic, purposely prolonged ending the massage so she could extend the massage and enjoy more money instead of doing a good job during the allotted time with the thought of receiving a significantly higher tip than usual. This tactic isn't conducive to any business practice as it is deceptive, misleading, forceful, and intimidating. I suggest that men heading to this spa beware of Linda's manipulative tactic. As a result, since the massage appointment was for 1 hour that was not completed properly where another 30 minutes were pushed forcefully against god business practices, I have disputed 1/3 of the charge with my credit card company. In both cases I have left a very good tip that was larger than a 1 hour massage itself, in cash, so that cannot be disputed...note that it isn't the money but the point of the matter. I was not going to do that and take the high road and refrain from coming back to this establishment but the manager of the place, Tony, did not rectify the matter and even made it worse by negatively threatening me instead of developing a suitable dialog. The manager, Mia, is a great communicator and she replies to txt's so professionally with care, and another attendant there, COCO, is very sweet and sensitive where it is my opinion that she would not treat her client in such a demeaning and unprofessional way. All in all, the place is nicely decorated and in a nice part of Oakville centre. It is too bad that Linda, although having a good touch and technique for massage, would manipulate a man, a paying client who tips well, to her advantage without care about a man but merely to get extra time for her day. Massage is good but gambling is bad so I will keep to get relaxing and necessary massages but not with Linda, and now after communications with the manager, Tonie, would not be going back there at all, and would not suggest any other go there too.
