I would not have gone in if not I was having lunch just across from it. The selections of the Mini Mart is almost all European grocery and good item.. from Poland, Turkey, Romania just to name a few... It was fun browsing around and see all the different items that is not commonly seen in the bigger supermarket. There is also a hot food area where you can order something quick and eat in or to take out. There are just a couple of smaller tables but seems to be quite busy with people working in the area to come and get a quick bite. Vienna Schnitzel on a bun ($5.99) - Freshly made by order and it took around 5-10 min for it to be ready (she warned me when I was ordering) - The sandwich is sizable, I ended up sharing that with my coworker - The Schnitzel itself is moist and tender... dare I said a little juicy too... The staffs here are nice and friendly, young lady that took my order has such a nice smile... :)

They had a refrigerated case for desserts: baklava, krembita, oblanda, and bombice. Yes, of course I had to try something from their hot table. There was a little bit of a language barrier so it was easier to gesture, point and nod. They no longer serve free coffee with their lunch menu so the entrees themselves are priced at $6.99. After you order your food, you have a seat at one of their several dining tables (they also have two small tables outside) and they will bring your food to you; you pay at the cash register when you're done. I had the musaka (the woman that took my order said it was like shepherd's pie) which was a large portion. There was minced meat and egg on the bottom layer and sliced potatoes and cheese on the top. It was very filling and I liked the taste, but it was way too oily and the potatoes were overcooked and mushy. My hubby had the cevapi (looked liked breakfast sausages) sandwich. It had 5 pieces (you can order 10) that were grilled to order and tasty. I tried a piece of his sandwich and thought the cevapi would be perfect for breakfast or cooked with pasta. They had cevapi in the refrigerated section so that you could take it home and cook it yourself. The bread used in the sandwich was spongy and greasy, not very appealing. This is the place to go if you want to try different food items from Europe. Not the warmest of staff, maybe it's a cultural thing. At least the younger woman tried to crack a smile by the time we left and wished us a good day.

Decided to pick the more expensive cut because it looked the best :P For terms of flavour, SO SO good the salmon tasted very fresh, & fatty. Would definitely get again! They will also slice/dice for you for as well and if you want sushi rice they charge $3 for it. service was super fast. They sell tuna, fatty tuna, scallop, uni, etc as well in the fridge but they do have sets rolls if you are into as well. They sell japanese snacks and frozen goods as well. Parking was free, take out only, no restroom. Ambiance was jsut a nice causal market vibes.

The store is a pretty decent size where you are able to find your favourite Japanese pantry items, frozen foods, and prepared sashimi. There is also a menu you can order from where your sushi is made fresh. The store is clean and can get busy at times as they have fresh sushi. The store is well-lit and organized. During my time there I bought some Japanese pasta sauce as well as an already premade chirashi bowl. Although it was busy, the cashiers and staff were efficient. I saw that there were also people picking up sushi platters, likely something they preordered before. Overall, a great Japanese store selling a variety of items as well as fresh sushi!

You'll find the selection broad enough to keep your pantry happy. However, venture towards the meats and seafood, and there's a distinct aroma that wafts from these sections, and let's just say it's more deterrent than inviting. It's the kind of smell that makes you reconsider buying. So, while the supermarket scores points for snacks and veggies, it might not be your go-to for "fresh" fish or steak. Also, pretty impossible to track down someone working, so hold your questions.

Crammed to the brim with tons of delectable eats, pastes, spices, huge variety of dried and fresh mushrooms, drinks, noodles, sweet and savoury treats. The meat section is SPOTLESS. It's one of the very few butchers in Toronto which sells fresh, not previously frozen goat. Lots of variety and good prices. The fish counter too is spotless and they have regular specials. Gleaming beautiful FRESH fish and no "fishy" smell. Chinese New Year and Têt decorations abounded including festive, happy music. Tons of sweets from Vietnam (exactly the same as I saw when I visited Vietnam), cookies, savoury snacks - DROOL. This store has items from Japan, Korea, PRC, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia. The produce counter is impressive. They have everything here including red Vietnamese dragon fruit for a reasonable price. "Furry" squash, fresh aloe, lotus root ... all those delectable Asian delights. Love this store. Always busy.
