Unlike other health food stores, where you ask them where something is, and they treat you like you're disturbing them (as if customer service is not the central part of their job), the staff at Nutrition House will take you right to where you need. They'll also dig a bit deeper, and ask for your purpose in buying that supplement, and give you either better alternatives that suit your purpose (even if they're cheaper), dispel myths (that the supplement you're buying doesn't actually accomplish the goal that you want it to), or enhance it (that the supplement you're buying works better with another supplement). This is why I like buying my supplements at Nutrition House Fairview.

The owner is very polite and patiently listened ... while everyone in line was doing a slow burn. This place specializes in spices, a range of snacks and has everything you need for Indian or Pakistani cooking. His prices are quite reasonable. It was very filling and I liked the taste, but it was way too oily and the potatoes were overcooked and mushy. My hubby had the cevapi (looked liked breakfast sausages) sandwich. It had 5 pieces (you can order 10) that were grilled to order and tasty. I tried a piece of his sandwich and thought the cevapi would be perfect for breakfast or cooked with pasta. They had cevapi in the refrigerated section so that you could take it home and cook it yourself. The bread used in the sandwich was spongy and greasy, not very appealing. This is the place to go if you want to try different food items from Europe. Not the warmest of staff, maybe it's a cultural thing. This place is at least on a par with Bruno's, but with lower than Costco prices. It started off as a Greek butcher and deli. It is still operating as that, with a lot of Greek and Mediterranean offerings. They have had a change in ownership in the last year, but have remained true to their pedigree. At Thanksgiving they feature fresh free-range grain fed turkeys. I am not generally a turkey fan, but last year bought one and it was outstanding. We use this place for a variety of steaks, especially my favourite skirt steak. Their trimming skills are non-pareil and they are truly nice and helpful. You must try their souvlaki brochettes. They are meaty and very reasonably priced. They naturally also carry a nice selection of cheeses and some deli, with a garlic head cheese being the star of the bunch.
