Amazing service and super clean. They open a new kit of sterile tools for each client and use those plastic bag liners in the foot spa tub. I'm visiting town and had a lot on my mind so I used my time to catch up on my phone and the nail tech only chatted w me to confirm shape and length of nails. On March 3, 2022, my wife contacted Kernan Nails at 12220 Atlantic Blvd # 124, Jacksonville, FL 32225 to inquire about the price for a French manicure and pedicure. Based on the phone quote of $47, she chose to drive to this salon for their services. Upon completion, the salon charged her $74. When she asked why it was so much more, they refused to answer and became noticeably agitated. They did not speak very good English and she wasn't sure they understood what she was asking but it was late at night, dark and she was a small woman alone with two men. She felt very intimidated by how they talked to her and wanted to remove herself from the situation quickly for her own safety. In addition, even though she is a legal immigrant, she did not feel she could involve the police for fear of risking her pending citizenship application, so she quickly paid but came home visibly upset and shaking because she felt taken advantage of. She said they never advised her of any upsold items or gave any reason for the price discrepancy. The following day, I entered the salon with the receipt and asked to speak to the owner. The owner happened to be sitting nearby working on a customer and asked what I needed. I explained the situation calmly and asked them to refund the difference between what she was quoted and what she was charged. I was immediately surrounded by three employees who began yelling at me and calling my wife a liar. After further discussion it became clear that they had no interest in doing the honorable thing and were quite content to have intimidated a woman out of her money, so I started to leave the store and said I would just take it up with my credit card. At that point, one of the employees looked at a customer and made the "crazy" gesture with his finger. I stopped, turned around and asked if he was calling me crazy and he began to cuss me out in front of a salon full of customers. Any company that believes it is ok to pull a bait and switch on its customers and intimidate women into overpaying, should not be allowed to operate in the State of Florida. read more

Visited this salon several times without issue. Last evening I stopped in for a full set and pedi as usual. The owner usually does my nails but instead Van did them while another person worked on my pedi. I shared the length and shape. With Almond shape you must go longer to start because the filing will take off length. Apparently Van did not know this because they were shorter than I expected after the filing. In addition, before completing my nails she stopped for 15 to do an eyebrow wax...leaving me to become more dissatisfied. Shop owner walked in I tried to share my experience ...and here is when things went left pretty quickly... In trying to share my experience to get what I asked for .. he immediately began raising his voice, waving his hand dismissively and saying he doesn't care. Meanwhile I had asked the nails to be removed and fixed. He simply cut them unevenly and told me I'd needed to pay to have them removed and it's now 7p and they are closed. It was not 7p when I arrived... He proceeded to over talk me disrespectfully. But listen. I paid for my pedicure AND TIPPED because that is my character. But his character was to become irate, not hear the concerns of his client (a repeat one by the way) and say he did not care if I returned. My questions to him, why was he 1) visibly upset (heavy breathing) 2) yelling (voice elevated) 3) and being dismissive when I didn't get the product I asked for. I even shared that I've been satisfied with his work in the past. Well after I paid, I let him know I will pray for him and his salon but I will NOT return. I do not recommend a salon that treats their paying clients disrespectfully, fails to acknowledge their mistakes and blatantly tells you they don't care if your return. Not to mention, leave you with chopped up, uneven nails to fend for yourself in terms of how they will be fixed. Fortunately for him, I am very good with filing and painting nails. In the climate we're in, we all have endured much and the last thing you want is a bad experience when it should be a relaxing one. Don't go here, a shop owner's style under stress was revealed and if you don't care about your customers then why should you be in business. Van is amazing, Vincent is amazing, everyone is amazing here, they are so nice and always laughing and are enjoyable to be around. My eyelashes are always perfect, and my nails and hands are absolute perfection, they clean around your cuticles on your feet and your hands and are very clean! I love this place! read more

It was my first and last time every going here. I don't recommend it because of how my feet were being treated roughly and I didn't even get everything that I wanted done. I wanted my toe nails to be white AS POSSIBLE WITH A SIMPLE DESIGN but I guess it was too much for ms Paula. I will never go back. read more
