My fiancé ordered the Mexican wrap, while I got the chicken fillet roll. Both were simply prepared and tasty enough to sate us. The focus here is definitely not the deli, let's be honest. If you're going to Tess's, you need to pick up a few baked goods! After some deliberation, I decided to behave myself and just order one scone. It was good. Not the best I've had, but it was a decent size and not dry. There are so many options here, there's no way you could experience it all in one trip! Lemon cake, soda breads, apple tarts, muffins... it's a carb lover's delight. It's not a sit-down place, so keep that in mind. Also, they don't take cards. This is a hassle when you're a tourist, and the bakery IS in a tourist area with the castle nearby. Luckily, there is an ATM just down the road at the bank.

It was a pleasant little spot. The seating arrangements were similar to a coffee shop with café tables, coffee tables, sofas and a counter. There was outdoor seating as well. The service was good as the person waiting on me was polite and efficient. There were all kinds of great options, including chocolate pretzels, pizza pretzels and other bakery treats. I did not want anything heavy, so I tried a couple of small salt pretzels with my coffee. They were quite tasty and the coffee provided a satisfying caffeine fix. The fact that it was such an unusual treat added to the enjoyment. The price was less than €4 for this treat. If I make it back to Kilkenny, I will look forward to returning to this fine little shop.

The server came over within 10mins which is think is perfect! We did not have any issues with service during lunch on a Monday. As others have stated the windows and location are amazing! To start we ordered a scone that came with butter, amazing raspberry jam, cream and was very warm and toasty. It was really great way to start our meal. My husband ordered the cappuccino and the smoked salmon sandwich, the sandwiches come with a little side salad that was really great. He raved about his cappuccino as well. I ordered the turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing Sandwich and it was GREAT! It came our quick and was toasted perfectly - I did add mayonnaise, because as an American I love my condiments haha We also shared a side of sweet potato fries and were yummy, but we're definitely overpriced at €2.95, although we did not mind paying at all.
