Was so happy to get my daughter in to see a doctor the same day!! But when she called me after…read moreher appt she was bawling!! she explained to Dr Slone her condition and what she was experiencing and she was told she is imagining it. She needed meds for demodex mites and never got anything but a hard time, which has caused my daughter anxiety and depression!! And was also told that the tiny black spots on her and her 4 year old boy was moles! Said my daughter may have just not noticed them before! I would think my daughter would know her own body and her 4 year old!!! Research says dermatologist are illiterate on Dermedex! But to give her nothing when she had an issue is totally ridiculous and unacceptable!!! Never again will me or any of my family step foot in that so called dermatology office!!

Dr. Sloan is extremely competent, genuinely concerned, and TAKES HER TIME (does not rush you)...and…read moreshe's the only dermatologist in the Danville area (the next closest dermatologists are in LEXINGTON). So yeah, wait times can be extended. And in case anyone doesn't know, it's the 21st century, not the 1950's. Insurers are not paying for extended appointment/examination times. Given the financial pressures on doctors from Medicaid/Medicare/Private Insurers, as well as the cost of malpractice insurance, they MUST book heavily or they will not survive financially. So if you want a competent, professional dermatologist, DO see Dr. Sloan. If you'd rather drive to Lexington and back because you want to avoid having to wait in their waiting room for half an hour or an hour to be seen...well, do what you need to...but it seems a false economy to me. I'd rather wait an hour for a competent, caring doctor, than have to brave the crazy maniacs on the road between here and Lexington...and back! So, EYES OPEN...if you opt to see a competent, caring, dermatologist like Dr. Sloan, don't whine about having to wait for an hour. Pull your head out. As my father used to say, "you can't save your cake and eat it too".
