I am challenging myself to visit all public libraries in the state of Rhode Island this year. This…read morewas the seventh one I visited. My friend and I came about 3 hours before closing, and left about 2 hours later. There was not much on the first floor (besides the cutest little shopping cart for kids and the bathroom) so we went upstairs. The employee there was really helpful and told us a little bit more about the library since it was our first time. We noticed they had little Knick knacks they were selling from a club they have so I got something as a memory. In addition, they had a map where you can color in countries you've been to - they change up this activity every month. We sat in a sound proof little booth, where you can adjust the lighting. As we were leaving, the employee showed us their craft room and they have lots of materials and machines so if you've ever feeling creative but don't have the resources definitely check them out. They have lots of parking and a good selection of books.

I lived in the Royal Mills for the 2015 year and there are plenty of pros and cons to it…read more Pros: Beautiful apartments and place to show off to your friends and family. Not everyone will ever get to experience living in a place right on the Pawtuxet River or the "mill" lifestyle. My apartment was on the smaller size (one bed, one bath 900 square foot apartment). With my rent included heat (electric) and water. Additionally, each unit comes with your own washer and dryer which is a huge plus for me. I was lucky enough to have an apartment with a view of the river and patio area. You have the option of a parking space outside or in the heated garage. I chose the garage. The management was pretty much always there when you needed them for something along with maintenance that was usually just a phone call away for most situations. The apartments are animal friendly so you could call that a pro or con depending if you like animals. Cons: The walk from the garage for me took about 5 minutes which wasn't typically awful unless you had a lot of stuff to carry or groceries. I would suggest a hand truck. Another issue was the walls. They are almost paper thin and if you have a noisy neighbor (which I did) can really affect you. I did however complain after multiple attempts to resolve the issue with the neighbor myself. Management did make contact and spoke with the neighbor but it was extremely annoying dealing with the lack of privacy. On top of that neighbor I also had another neighbor on the other side of my apartment that loved to smoke marijuana. If you're like me, I can't stand it or the smell so that was annoying as well. Another issue going back to the garage, would have to be the parking situation inside. If you have two vehicles it is a constant car switching system. You and your spouse (or roommate) will always have to switch cars up and down. You also have to learn how to park on the lift or you're going to be stuck paying for some damage due to the confined space. Overall, Royal Mills was genuinely a good experience for my girlfriend and I. It was my first apartment before purchasing my own home and I can say it was a nice place to live and an experience to look back on and say "I did that". Management also was very helpful letting me end my lease early and renting out the apartment prior to me even leaving. It gave me the opportunity to get my security deposit back and was a very big plus for me. The management there will usually always go above and beyond for you. Happy living!

Where do I begin - MOVING IS STRESSFUL ENOUGH....Recently I applied for a 2bedroom 2bath apartment…read moreat the royal mills. I submitted my application along with the required documents & the deposit amount ($1350) to hold the apartment. I also offered to pay 6months in advanced at signing as well as a co-sign- After about two days I had not heard from the property manager mike so I called the leasing office and requested information on my application. I was told mike would give me a call back to let me know if I have been approved or not. I never received a call. So I called again the previous day and requested status of application . I was told he would call me back to let me know ,and again I never received a call. So the next day(June 15) I drove to royal mills hoping to see mike and ask him in person ,he was not in the office and I was told he would give me a call. This is now 2 weeks after I had submitted my application with the hope of moving for July 1st. (Mind you) the apartment I applied for was vacant ,I was told on June 7th that I couldn't not move for July 1st because of a needed paint job and was given a move in date for July 16th . IT TAKES 3 DAYS FOR PAINT TO DRY NOT ONE MONTH. My application was never processed and I was not denied or approved. Please keep in mind that the application process here takes 3-4 weeks , not 3-4 days as advertised. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO MOVE WITHIN 30 DAYS I'm completely Appalled by the unprofessionalism at this establishment,I couldn't imagine moving forward with such nonsense. IV HAD it at this point so I called to see about picking up my check for $1350, the answering service told me that It would be all set for me to grab. So at 11:45 am I drove to royal mills to get my security deposit back and there was no One in the office. Not only am I let down, now I'm angered that I drove 30min out of the way for nothing. I arrived the next day to pick up not one check but two ($1350) ($35) . I know my application was never processed because they returned my check for ($35application fee) as well...Someone needs to get fired because CLEARY there is a bad communication problem with this establishment. It's Lucky that they don't have a corporate number on the website because I'd be taking it up with them ,instead of yelp. Good luck

The woman they have answering the phone who I believe is a relative of theirs is so rude. I put up with her rudeness for 10 years and now I deeply regret it. Today I called to order oil and some man in the background who I believe was the owner was saying I was "using" them because I haven't ordered oil since April. The miserable old woman who answers the phone there kept repeating "we don't operate like that" and other stuff that made zero sense to me every time I tried to get a word in to say I now have an electric mini split and use oil as a secondary source of heat and that is why I haven't ordered oil since April. She talked over me the entire time I was on the phone. Talking about other companies and servicing, I have no idea what she was talking about, maybe she is going senile. She refused to place an order of oil for me and told me to try to call elsewhere but good luck, Good luck? WTF. I did a google search called Vaughn Oil, and in five minutes scheduled an oil delivery. Shout out to Vaughn oil company! Give them a call! Excellent customer service from them, the woman who answered the phone to take my order at Vaughn was so nice to me and courteous and professional, what a breath of fresh air after putting up with the nasty woman at Micheletti for 10 years, the representative at Vaughn put me down as having oil as a secondary source of heat, took my credit card info and a delivery of oil is coming to my house tomorrow which was a NO BRAINER. Imagine that Micheletti Oil, seems they could not comprehend something so simple. Micheletti Oil company is run by incompetent bad businessmen with an ignorant, nasty, unprofessional woman answering the phone to take your order. I guess they hate their customers. What a bizarre way to run a business! Give your money to another oil company please, one that will treat you with simple common courtesy and appreciates your business. The only thing that was good about Micheletti is they are close to my home and would deliver small orders of oil for me to fit within my budget at the time. But you can get that elsewhere as well without dealing with nastiness and disrespect. I have always kept a zero balance with this company and was a customer for 10 years and was treated so disrespectfully this morning. Also, as a side note the owner sent his son to my home years ago to repair my boiler and the son told his father my ex-husband was rude to him, WAH!!!, which I had NOTHING to do with and I wasn't there to even witness this, so I don't even know if it was true. I had to apologize and answer for that for about a year whenever I spoke to the owner. Very bad businessmen, stay clear of them!

I was gifted a preferred plate and needed to make a trip to transfer them to my vehicle. I may have been able to do this via the mail, but since I had a narrow timeframe, I opted to go in person. Reservations for the main location in Cranston generally book 2-3 weeks out. I made 2 appointments for the same day, one for the morning and the other for the afternoon in case I needed to gather additional information and didn't want to wait another 2-3 week for an appointment. One good thing about COVID is that it forced a restructuring of the DMV, which ended up being better for customers and employees, so many of the updates are still in place today. Step 1: make your reservation online for the day, time, and location you want to visit Step 2: arrive during your scheduled time Step 3: security will ask to see your confirmation before allowing you access to the building Step 4: wait in the check in line and hope that you have all of the forms and documents you need to get whatever you came for done Step 5: get called to the check in window (there are 4 of them) Show the employee behind the plexiglass your confirmation number, hand over your paperwork and forms for them to review and validate. If you have everything that you need, you receive a deli style ticket with a number on it and get to proceed to the upstairs waiting area. If you don't have all the paperwork and forms you need, you'll need to straighten that out before you go any further Step 6: wait in the second floor waiting area. The seats are so worn out that the faux leather is completely work off, leaving a spongy foam cushion to sit on. Even with an appointment, I waited 40 min for my number to be called Step 7: when your number is called, proceed to the numbered booth/window the automated system told you to enter and hand your paperwork over to the employee sitting behind that plexiglass. This person may or many not be friendly, but as long as they can take care of what you went to the DMV for, that doesn't matter. Pay your fee, collect your receipt, and leave.
