I am contacting corporate today because the employees here tried to play fast and loose with our lay-aways. My husband and I have run multiple successful businesses, and I am astounded at how poorly this branch is ran. They took the SD out of my husband's Nintendo switch without his permission and sold it. We went to pick up our lay-aways and they tried to not release our items to us because my husband, who put it on lay-away - whose finger print in on the file, did not have his driver license (I drove). But he had his social security card on him, as well as a ID from the department of defense and a work ID as well as the cards we have been using to make payments on our lay-aways. After I went in to question them, one of the employees tried to lie to my face and tell me my husband never showed her those ID's or social security card. After asking for corporate's number the manager sheepishly comes out and says he will take a picture ID. I find it ridiculous that I had to go through all these hoops to pay the final payment on our lay-aways and pick them up. Not to mention they have his freaking finger print on file. How is it that a DMV will take a social security card as ID to get your license but a freaking pawn shop wants to make it even more difficult to pick up items, WHILE THEY HAVE YOUR FINGER PRINT ON FILE. SO RIDCIULOUS. "Well we need to make sure it is him". Try using your brain for once, and stop trying to make something so easy, so difficult. If someone's finger print matches what you have on file, well let's think for a minute, is it possible for someone to have the exact same finger print as another person? I know it does not take a degree to work at a pawn shop but let's try to use our brain's for once...Hmmmm.. They have the same exact cards they have used to make payments this whole time- Social security card (which is by far harder to make a fake one then a freaking driver's license) and DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE ID...But no Driver's license? Oh NO! ...OH but they had no issues taking payment over the phone the few times we did it. Complete garbage. We come from big families that have heavily used Trash America Pawn, and better believe we are warning every single person to stay far from this branch. Unless you want to jump through several hoops, and have your stuff sold without your permission. I could go on, but I will stop here and save the rest for corporate. Over the years, we have continued to visit the team at Goldsmith for all of our jewelry needs. Recently, I brought in a piece of heirloom jewelry and a few other random pieces that had been sitting in a safe for years. It held a lot of sentimental value, but was dated and not my style. I decided to reimagine the old jewelry into a few custom pieces I'd actually want to wear every day. I met with Danny to talk about my ideas. He always makes me feel at ease and understands what I am envisioning, giving suggestions and asking lots of questions, guiding me to the perfect piece. He called, texted and kept in regular communication on the status of the jewelry. We settled on transforming the pieces into a necklace and 3 rings. Their in house designer created digital images with ideas and we went back-and-forth a few times until we had the perfect designs for me. I was also shown a 3-D printed mold so that I can feel the rings and see what they would look like exactly. The pieces came out more perfect than I could have imagined and I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately after a few weeks of going in and learning that my chain was not ready, they texted me to say that they lost my chain but I could go in and choose another one. My heart was broken but Hannah was really patient and helpful in finding a similar chain and I chose (and paid) for a pendant to go along with it. A couple weeks later I moved to another city when I got a text that they found my chain, so drove the 4 hours round-trip to pick it up. They did a good job, were still friendly and waived the $25 mending fee. Things happen but customer service makes all the difference! I'm thrilled to have had a happy ending by being reunited with my gold chain.

The only issue was that it was slightly too long for my liking. So they offered to add a hoop chain at the length I wanted so I didn't have to get rid of the rest of the gold. They did this at no extra charge, going above and beyond. Because of the interactions I had with the lovely employees and owner I decided to take a leap of faith and leave a family heirloom my grandmothers engagement ring she gave to me. Unfortunately it was missing a diamond whe it was gifted to me and needed repair. When I came back to Simmons to pick up my chain and ring both pieces looked amazing and were exactly what I wanted. I was so happy with the result I left some more pieces. 2 rings that needed resizing, a broken chain that needed repairing, and a gold bracelet that needed a couple links removed. I came back about a week later and once again everything looks amazing!!!!! I cannot express how amazing and personable the employees of this shop are. They made me feel so comfortable during the entire process of leaving my family heirlooms to get a bit of a make over.
