Kentucky Lakes & Prizer Point KOA - Cabin for $60 a night. One full bed and two bunks and a half bath.

So we loved the overall experience. Kentucky lake is beautiful and Prizer has options for whatever…read morekind of stay you need. Tent sites, RV or Cabins. The entire campground is very clean. The marina is excellently maintained. Everyone around is so friendly. We just had a few hiccups. We booked our reservation the same day around noon so totally understand that it's last minute but we also didn't check in until around 7pm giving them more than enough time to ensure a clean cabin. However they didn't have our reserved cabin cleaned and the one next to it was "clean and ready" but upon getting inside we found tons of dead bugs and mold! Not just in the bathroom but also on the walls at a height where a kiddo or toddler could touch it or be exposed. To me this is unacceptable and a health hazard. We totally understand these are cabins in the woods but there were several empty units amongst us that were unoccupied and I can only hope they aren't dealing with the same level of mold. The only other thing we experienced that was negative was we rented a golf cart for $50 a day for one day but it kept dying even when the battery gauge read as fully operable. We broke down on day one and broke down again on our checkout day and had to leave the cart at another site. I'm hoping Prizer will be accommodating and comp us a future use of one day for the cart issues as I didn't request a refund but also didn't have time to resolve before checkout. The housekeeping manager and all the staff were apologetic and extremely professional which is why we will definitely still give Prizer a chance in the future. So all in all I would be wary of the cabins but everything else seemed well. Next visit we will be booking a bungalow on the water or bring an RV.

I planned a weekend for my daughter and friends. Upon arrival, I was told someone had changed my…read morereservation and I did not have a condo available. After waiting an hour, the "manager" said this sort of thing never happens. She preceded to find me a duplex for the night and asked me to pay for it. I told her it wasn't exactly fair that my room was no longer available, and I had to pay for another one. She finally gave me to room for the night which was filthy. If someone could just clean the bird poop or perhaps use a blower to clean up around the cabins, that would make a huge difference. The next day we rented a boat, and the boat stopped working 10 minutes into our trip. We did get a new boat after an hour of waiting. This place does not care about wasting your time or reimbursing you when they are in the wrong. I would never recommend this dirty place to anyone. It is not well managed and nothing is consistent. Such a disappointment with all the money we spent. We were given the run around and no one was apologetic for all the mistakes that happened.

Ahh, staying in the country. Fresh air, lakes....and double wides…read more Ok, so I'm taking my dad & brother on a week-long fishing trip, and I knew we were staying in a mobile home before we got there. But it still kind of amuses me that we set up camp in a trailer for 4 days. It also amused me that the front office felt compelled to write "3 Men" on the reservation & deposit form they sent me. Was that a warning that we better not have any women-folk? Or were they doing that to alert everyone that we might be those funny kind of men? Maybe we got a price break... There is also a lodge here if you wanted to opt for a hotel room instead of a trailer; it is owned by a different person than the people who rent the trailers and own the marina. The chief advantage of staying here is access to the marina. While there are other places that have boat launches, this one is one of the easiest one to get your boat in and out of the water. Except for the pervasive musty smell, the accomodations were ok. It was clean and spacious. The kitchen was nice, although it would have been nice to have more than 3 bowls, and something other than 50s-era plastic water glasses. Also, they said they had internet access at the office. Yes, they do...one ethernet cable that you can only use if you sit down amongst the piles of crap theye're selling in their gift store on a metal folding chair. Guess they want to make sure you don't use up their bandwidth. This place was less expensive than most of the other places we looked at around the area. If you want something comfortable without a lot of frills beyond cable TV, this is a good place. If you want something a bit more posh, or something that's been brought into the past 2 decades, you should probably rent elsewhere.

They do have transient slips available but we normally put in transient where cable, supplies and more amenities were available. For more info check out their website below. What you will find here is indeed fuel at their easily accessible fuel dock, as mentioned above there's transient docking available as well as annual slip rentals with free pump-outs. Their restaurant is Hu-B's and they serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. there's a breakfast buffet Saturdays & Sundays from 8am-11am May through September, while their daily lunch & dinner menu is pretty extensive with lots of tasty burgers, chicken, steak, bbq & grilled cheese sandwiches & wraps. You can also get baskets of shrimp, fish & a BLT. There are lots of fun starters, side and a few salads so there's a number of nice choices. My fave is actually cranberry chicken salad but the burger is really good too. Of course, you will learn when traversing the TN River from the Ohio all the way to Mobile, AL & the Gulf of Mexico that you will run into dry counties, especially in KY & MS and this little spot is DRY. So if you're like most prepared sailors you will be just fine because your coolers & fridges are perpetually stocked with the appropriate libations :-) Bottom line: This is a okay top for food & fuel but not a lot of other services. It's a bit shallow but if I can get my Hunter 310 in there with a 4.5' draft you should be fine. Note the marina is currently closed and scheduled to reopen April 2nd 2020.
