Went to KPDI for one week for Class A CDL , they do have housing if necessary. First day met my instructor nice ( but firm) guy, started off checking what I knew which was very little about pre trip checklists. Went over that for a bit then on to driving a 10 speed truck. For the rest of the week then the exam my instructor taught me what I needed to know and it showed on Friday afternoon during the exam. I passed!! I didn't think it would be as stressful as it would be but, learning how to be professional, efficient and safe was well worth it. Thank you KPDI. read more

Took the test with them. Emotions aside, the examiner wouldn't stop going on about how she knew everyone and asked personal questions (about my family etc., I felt uncomfortable and this was extremely DISTRACTING), just overall not a good experience for me. They're happy for you to take more $50 tests and classes, and you'll pass. Just pay up. read more

Amazing program and instructors. They know what they are doing and how to teach the proper ways of driving a commercial vehicle. They have great equipment and are very knowledgeable about all sorts of commercial equipment. There's no need to go to a 4 to 6 week school where you share an instructor when you can go here for a week and get great one on one teaching. read more

Very pleased with the experience I had during my 3 day class A CDL course. Located on the peninsula which saved me a ton of money on lodging during my CDL course. Very easy to work with, very accommodating. I ran into numerous roadblocks trying to book a course in Anchorage and Palmer and was very pleased when I found KPDI. I was able to schdule a time, and reserve it with a down payment. That sounds simple, but no one else would reserve a time and date of my choosing, it was always "we will call you when we have an opening". I work on the slope so that routine wasn't working for me. KPDI and I worked out a 3 day window that fit both our schdules and I got my CDL. Two weeks LATER I received calls informing me the other schools were ready to fit me in. I took one, one hour driving lesson to prepare and then took the road test. The lesson was exceedingly helpful and both the instructor and the woman who did that actual road test were very friendly and good to talk to. Everyone seemed pretty conscious about Covid-19 and respectful of individual comforts, which I appreciated quite a bit. Overall a very good and helpful experience. read more
