This is an older but beautiful hotel! The staff were very kind and accommodating. The artwork is old European and very beautiful. The view and access to the beach is impeccable! The rooms are very nice. The food and drinks were ridiculously expensive AND it is not an all inclusive. The vibe is classic and still. This may be what you're looking for.
We had read the reviews, but have been to the area many times and wanted to try a different hotel. Privilege Aluxes in Isla Mujeres and Live Aqua are more our vibe. At both of these hotels, the weary traveler is greeted with a warm towel and a glass of champagne. They address your basic needs upon arrival. That sets the stage. You know you will be cared for. You also get your own butler to attend to your needs. Again, very personable. Then you have access to food and beverages 24/7. At both of these, there is some kind of entertainment in the evening along with dinner. Live Aqua and Privilege Aluxes are all adult hotels. At Kempinski, children are allowed. All of these have had excellent food, but the all inclusive route allows one to try various foods you may not have been able to otherwise. read more
