The hubs and I stumbled upon this place back in April when I came for a visit before relocating to…read morethis fine city. It's taken me these many months to write a review of the Brockenhalle because, honestly, I did not want to share the goodness with you. To be frank, this place blows all of the other Brocki-type places I've been to in town out of the water. To quote their website: used yes, but clean and intact. That just 'bout sums up the Brockenhalle experience. The prices, I would say, are reasonable and one can find lovely items in the way of furnishings, kitchenwares, books and music, art and clothing.
There's an 80 frank fee for delivery within Kreis 8, and, maybe, a bit beyond. We found a lovely cabinet/writing desk made of solid wood (I'm going to guess oak) from a few plus decades back for 450 CHF. There are a few minor dings that really can't be seen, and, overall, the piece is lovely. I can only imagine what sort of price the thing would have fetched had it been either new or in some hoity-toity antique shop.
The carpentry component of Tigel I haven't really checked out. I found the furniture attractive, but the prices not so much... I haven't also looked into their training program or their social engagement regarding, in all sincerity, making the world a better place. This Brocki-joint certainly has more going on than meets the eye.
