All-around excellent. I love the old-timey feel inside and all of the decor on the walls. I thoroughly enjoy the breakfast here. The Tuscan omelette is wonderful, the biscuits are delicious and the pancakes are perfect and massive. The service is friendly and the owner works behind the counter, his son is in the kitchen. Not a ton of seating on the inside but they have a bar counter and a nice patio when the weather is warm. They support the military and offer a free drink for veterans. read more

Keithsburg cafe is the quintessential small town cafe from its simple but delicious menu to it's unforgettable staff. Owner Cowboy Dan- is like the mayor of a small town that greets every single customer like a long lost friend and runs the place with his wife and his delightful daughter! I work close to here, therefore decided to give it a shot! Decided to give a lunch review because I didn't see any others! I got the grilled chicken sandwich and a side of fries. The taste of it all was good! But the portion of the chicken sandwich was very weird, small hand burger bun with a grilled chicken tender on it. Not what I was expecting but I paired it with hot sauce and ranch and it was tasty! I paid almost $7 for that. My friend got a Chef salad with no tomatoes, she paid a little over $7. Portion size was fair but expected more given the price. Onions were cut small and were a good amount of them which she wasn't expecting. Cannot believe I've never been here! I've heard about it for so many years but never made it over. The only major disappointment was that they were out of biscuits when we showed up around 1245 on a Sunday. I ordered the chicken fried steak and the gravy was some of the best gravy I've ever had. The mashed potatoes I chose as my side were amazing as well. I threw a little of my ample serving of gravy over and it was fantastic mixed. I will Def order to have the potatoes smothered in that next time. I chose fries as my other side and that was the only thing I wasn't happy about. I ordered coffee for my drink and it was always full and refilled every time. Had great conversation with the owner as well who mentioned they will probably be bringing bbq at nights over the weekend.. Excited for that. And finally... The Price! Didn't end up eating here but there system is awful. Clipboards your just supposed to know to sign in on, had 3 people sign in ahead of us before we finally realized. People just standing in front of the door because no one knows what there supposed to do and no one working there was paying attention. Waitresses in there pajamas, not very friendly and waited for 30 mins just to get skipped over so we left. Good luck if you decide to eat here. Here's my top 10 thoughts about Keithsburg Cafe: 1. It's a hidden rustic country cafe. Unlike any I've seen in a while. Give it a try, it's a mom and pop atmosphere, not a chain restaurant. 2. Serves yummy down home country cooking for breakfast and lunch. Biscuits, pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon, sausage and gravy, and even fried baloney! 2 meat plates and veggies for lunch. 3. Very friendly and hard working wait staff. They do a great job getting everybody in and out in a timely manner. 4. Fast service! No waiting around here! 5. Get there early to get a table, there's a small waiting area if you have to wait. 6. Clean restroom, however their toilet was having issues (jiggle the handle). Owner said he would get it fixed. :) 7. Great value for big portions! You won't leave here hungry! 8. Decorations. Take some time to look at their decor. We love this local place, they are huge veterans and first responder supporters. The wait staff has been there as long as we have been going, which we all know says a lot. OMG! The biscuits! Amazing! Great family dining, we had breakfast and everything was perfect! Their lunch menu also looked terrific with your choice of home style sides. One look at the carrot cake on the counter and I almost voted for cake for breakfast but was not at all disappointed with the amazing biscuit sandwich I had. The Keithsburg Omelet! I was over this way this morning and was starving for breakfast. Upon entering, the place was packed! Every table was full and there was a line. Luckily, seats became available at the bar and everyone in line wanted a table. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered a coffee, the Keithsburg Omelet and the bologna biscuit (because why not). I asked what was in the Keithsburg Omelet and the waitress replied, "everything". Boy, she wasn't lying. The omelet had peppers, onions, sausage, bacon, ham, Philly cheese steak meat, and cheese. It was huge and delicious! It was everything I was looking for in breakfast. On to the Bologna biscuit. The biscuit was light and fluffy. The bologna, surprisingly delicious! Great little cafe find. Service was excellent, food was prepared fast. I had the Keithsburg omelet, with biscuits and gravy. The Keithsburg omelet has philly meat, sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and tons of cheese. So good, I want it all over again. The wife had cheesesteak and corn nuggets and it was top notch. Finished off lunch with a brownie ala mode and banana pudding. Farking fantastic.
