This place was a perfect hole in the wall kinda restaurant. The food was super yummy. The price is super cheap! My order of 1 lb crawfish, 1 lb shrimp, 6 fried chicken wings and fried rice, and a side of fries with 3 drinks was all $20! Will definitely choose this place if I find myself in the area again! This place is awesome for the price! $4 Crawfish boil, $2.50 boudin, $5 for a huge portion of meaty gumbo etc. We are from Michigan so can't really compare the quality of taste for cajun style food, but I can say that it was delicious! We are in town for a couple weeks and will be eating here several times each week- love the food and love the prices even more! This place is great. We ordered an oyster po boy and 16oz of gumbo. Both were excellent. The weight of the po boy was insane. It had so many oysters (it wasn't just bun, and lettuce.) The staff is very friendly, and the line moves quick. The next day we went back and ordered the oyster po boy and 16oz red beans and rice. They have huge fountain drinks for .99 and the rest of the menu is on the cheaper side of New Orleans. The portions are huge for your money. Out of this world catfish and shrimp!! Everything we had was delicious. I got the catfish poboy and a side of fries and the hubby got the catfish and shrimp platter. Catfish was flaky and very fresh, fried to perfection and NOT very greasy. Great flavor too. Also the shrimp were the size of my palm, which honestly I feel is hard to get these days. Usually the shrimp are less than impressive which always leaves me doubting the "fresh never frozen" motto that is all too common. We got our entire meal for less than 30$. It was really busy while we were there too, always a good sign. We ate out front in the car ( our 9 month old was asleep in the back- parents will understand!) and even after the turned off the open sign we watched quite a few people knock on the doors- people really want this food! So if you're in the mood for some down home seafood- all the classics- AND for a great price, be sure to check this place out. read more

It was ok....the crawfish boudin tasted like it was mass produced like you would buy from the grocery store in Texas. The shrimp sandwich, it's not a poboy, it's on a hamburger bun...so that was pretty disappointing too. There was a lot of shrimp so that's good. I wasn't that happy with it especially since I was hoping a small family owned place would be better than a tourist trap in NOLA. But just be aware it's sandwiches not traditional poboys. read more

It's about 2 miles off I10, decided to stop by on my way back to the ATL from New Orleans. The poboys are huge. I had the shrimp one. Only ate half of it there and was full, the other half five hours later. I had the gumbo to, pretty good tasting. Ended up buying things out of the freezer, shrimp gumbo crabs. read more

I use to love the food here until I got bad fried shrimp. I took it back and just wanted another 're fry. Owner did not even look or smell shrimp. Oysters on a bun were fried just right, but I much prefer cornmeal to fine fish fry used. Gumbo disappointing - certainly meaty, tho, with every type left over, but too little shrimp/seafood. Another great "hole-in-the-wall" place to find great LA seafood! My wife and I stopped here for a late dinner one night on our way to NOLA. She got the softshell crab sandwich and I got the crawfish. I can definitely say that the food here filled my craving! We sat out on the park bench in front of the store. I also saw where they will pack live crawfish to go as well.
