After many frustrating consultations with various firms, a coworker had suggested this firm. It is a small family practice, but I was shocked by their responsiveness, and knowledge. I am someone who works with law and am familiar with the laws. I wanted to do something a little different in our marital settlement agreement. I was the spouse who would have had to pay child support (despite 50 50 custody), alimony, and give up a portion of my retirement. Most firms I went to encouraged litigation (of course, more $$$ in their pockets than the total of what I would be paying to my ex husband). Due to Mr. Keithly and his wife, I was able to have an amicable divorce and include everything in the MSA my ex and I agreed to. He was very good about working with us when we had the sit down to hammer out the language. Sure, a few disagreements evolved, but he was wonderful. And his price point is excellent! If you are looking to divorce and are between having to pay your spouse vs. having to pay more for litigation... My advice is to try to do an MSA, negotiate!!!! and save everybody the headaches. You may have to give up something. In my case, it is my house when my son turns 18. But the savings over the next 12 years is about equal. And adding the little amount I paid for the divorce, it would have been silly to litigate. If you make more than your spouse you probably will be in the same boat. Go in it with a logical mind and you will fair better in the long run. Mr. Keithly is the guy to go to for MSAs! read more
