It was opened to a scripture but I didn't take time to read it as we were hurrying to get checked in. I wish now that I had looked because this Dr. Bryant most certainly did not act in any manner whatsoever that would glorify Christ. Point blankly, I would avoid Dr. Bryant at all costs. The office staff was super nice and knowledgeable regarding the billing but that's the only positive thing I can say about this practice. We waited in the waiting room for approx. 15min then waited in the exam room for more than a hour to see Dr. Bryant! He came in all hurried, talking over us, not wanting to give us a chance to talk or ask questions, was rude & arrogant, and seemed to think he knew more about our child and his insurance than we did. I assure you he did not. I had spent an extensive amount of time with my child's insurance provider on the phone prior to the visit so that I would know what our responsibility would be. I told him we would be paying out of pocket but he was so concerned about the insurance and not billing them. I told him to feel free to bill them but they would not pay and we would have to. Even his nurse tried to tell him that they too had verified that the insurance would not pay until he was 15 years of age but you could tell he was not going to concede that we knew more about it than he did and he suggested that if he allowed us to pay out of pocket we would be causing him to commit insurance fraud which was ridiculous. Made no sense! I had NOT told him he couldn't bill them, I just told him he would not get paid by them so we would be paying. Ugh!! Everything that came out of his mouth was asinine. So, just so I'm not posting anything that I do not know to be factual, I followed up the next day with the insurance company and they reiterated to me, 1. Yes, he can bill them but, 2. No, it wouldn't be covered therefore he would receive no compensation from them. 3. Yes, the child had to be at 15yrs. old before they would paying for this procedure. 4. Yes, we would HAVE to pay for it out of pocket if we wanted him to have it done now. 5. No, they would not charge the provider with insurance fraud for allowing us to pay out of pocket. Also, I might add, even the insurance representative chuckled at this particular concern of his. (TOLD YOU SO, Dr. Bryant!) This is why we need healthcare reform! Doctors do not want private pay clients because they know they can not charge as much / get paid as much!! Anyway, We did not even get to the medical aspect of what brought us in before my husband, who is the MOST kind, gentle, and patient man you could ever meet, interrupted him to tell him just to forget about it and turned to me to say, "Come on, we're leaving." Seriously, NO ONE, in a professional position, has ever acted the way he did and now I can understand why he was not on the list of recommended providers given to us. I've never met anyone like him and hope to never again. I would steer very clear of this practice! I found my desire for convenience is not worth going to this doctor and I would not trust him with my child because it was obvious my child's care was most certainly NOT his priority.

After talking to Eileen and Donna they made me feel more at ease and assured me I was in good hands with Dr Nary. Dr Nary kept me informed during the procedure at all times and if he sensed I was in discomfort he would ask and made sure I DID NOT feel any pain. He did a wonderful job! Later, the insurance /billing manager informed me that she had made a mistake and that they were not in network with my insurance company. My dental cleanings should have been at zero dollars out-of-pocket. Lena asked me if I would be willing to pay 50% and said she would refund 50% of my previous payment. Each time I've called over the last four months asking about the refund check, Lena has an excuse why it has not been mailed. I now feel that I was lied to and that the practice is never going to provide the 50% refund that Lena negotiated with me. As I understand, the reason that she made the initial mistake is that she didn't know that insurance coverage is based on the name of the dentist, not the name or address of the practice. (I didn't know this either and relied on the dental practice's advice). That aside, they provide excellent dental care and cleaning -- both the dentists and hygienists I have seen are excellent. Poor Attitude Bad Work…read more July 2019 I arrived for my daughter's appointment. They did not have her appointment on the schedule. They worked her in. July 2019 my daughter was x-rayed. The hygienist said the x-ray looked great, no cavities. The dentist came to examine and said my daughter had 3 cavities that needed fillings but, they would wait and x-ray in another 6 months. January 2020, my daughter again had x-rays. I was again told she had 3 cavities. She was scheduled to have the 1 on the one side fixed separate from the other side. The soonest appointment they could get her in was April 2020. April 2020 COVID - appointment cancelled. End of May 2020 my daughter got in to have her filling done. Upstate said she had 1 cavity on the one side and two on the other, between her molars. The office said they had a COVID policy that all staff & parents would wear masks. The assistant entering & handing things across my daughter to the assistant was not wearing a mask, the receptionist was not wearing a mask, several adults accompanying patients were not wearing masks. The staff members not wearing masks had the masks on their chins. I reached out to the office in writing regarding their staff not following their own COVID-19 policy. I received a nasty response telling me to find another dentist. End of June 2020, I had my daughter's records transferred to another dentist. The new dentist looking at Upstate's January 2020 x-ray spotted an additional cavity that Upstate did not see. She had 2 cavities on each side between her molars, not 1 on the one side and 2 on the other. Upstate had missed a cavity. The new dentist also did a new X-ray finding that Upstate did not remove all of her cavity when doing the filling that they did last month. Part of the cavity is still visible on the x-ray at the filling. The unpleasant response I received telling me to find another pediatric dental office was a blessing in disguise.
