He is extremely unprofessional. Each time I contacted him about my case, he was rude and I had to reexplain it to him, or resend documents that I had already sent. The day before my case (cell phone ticket) went to court I contacted him for an update. He replied "we don't have a client under your name" and when I called he was abrasive and extremely rude. What to expect: - Mr. Kehoe's style is very abrupt, your phone conversation will be short and may feel rushed - His office will send you an email with some detailed instructions - if you don't like following instructions, this will be a frustrating experience for you. You will be signing an affadavit that you accept whatever charge he and the prosecutor can agree on. - You will provide your paperwork, a copy of your driving record, signed affadavit, etc - You won't get follow-up phone calls, everything is done by email - You'll get one email from Mr. Kehoe's office when all your paperwork has been received, and another once your case has been settled - You'll get one letter from the court telling you that your case has been adjourned for XX days, and another letter from the court indicating the final disposition of your case. I give him 5/5 on the outcome of my case - a parking ticket is the best-case scenario. Unprofessional, short on the phone, forgetful, unorganized, disgustingly dirty office, miscommunicated information needed for my bankruptcy which misled me and ruined any chance of reaffirming my car. "Oh, sure, I'll be able to get this down to a parking ticket fine." Well he didn't, I had to pay hundreds of dollars for my bargained conviction, which was counted as a moving violation, which means my insurance went way up, AND the shmuck charged me $195 for all his "help." And I only went 44mph in a 30, that's only 14 mph over the limit AND it was 4am because I was lost trying to drive to NY AND I'm from Canada to prove that I was just passing through. Easy parking ticket plea. That was in 2011. This year I got another speeding ticket, I decided to do it myself and before I opened my mouth they reduced it to a parking ticket ($220 altogether but who cares, my insurance is fine). Randy is one of the most honest, genuinely nice lawyers I've ever met. He's a good guy and he does a good job. Like he says, he's "one of the good guys". He's been in the business for 20 years and does everything from simple speeding tickets to murder trials, dwi's, divorces, bankruptcies, and about any other criminal defense case. Despite his experience, he has probably the lowest fees in the entire state and is always up-front with his fees. Don't mind his messy office lol. Hired him to defend me for a speeding ticket two months ago. Sent him all of my info and was told that he automatically asks for an adjournment to prepare for the trial. Took my money and I never heard back from him. Call him today and was told that the court matter had been settled and that I owed a fine. Claimed that I never got his letter because I had changed my address (I have lived in the same place for 4 years). Also said that I would be in big trouble if I didn't pay the fine by the due date, which was in 2 days. Didn't make a big deal out of it because I still had time to pay, just said I needed to know what the verdict was, how much I owed and who and how I needed to pay it. He asked if he could fax it over, and I said I didn't have a fax. I said I just needed to info. He asked how I wanted to get it and asked if I wasnted him to fax it to me. I said I had already said I don't have a fax, he could just tell it to me. Then he suddenly got agitated and started asking if I was trying to fight him. I couldn't believe it, I actually asked him if he was making some kind of joke. He made some loud rant about how privileged I was to have him represent me, then hung up the phone without giving me any of the information I needed (and paid for) to avoid serious legal repercussions. Redialed him 5 times and he refused to pick up my calls. I had to report him to the NY BAR Association and then go through the courts MYSELF to find out what I had to do. I Still don't know the verdict, just the cost of the fine. No idea if I'm getting points or anything. DO NOT hire this man, he is unbalanced and obviously has no problem hanging his clients out to dry. His attitude is not only poor, but unethical and in violation of his obligations as a lawyer. read more
