This review is purely for the wedding vouchers we bought here, which work in the U.S., Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau at the time of writing this. The staff was very nice and it kind like they were open at 9:15 - 9:30 rather than the 10am posted on social. They got us what we need in an efficient manner and the store is very organized. By the way, they also sell gift cards and actual cards here if you need a quick gift pick up, as well as the usual wedding favor pastries. Definitely a good place to have around here for your Chinese wedding needs!
Pastries and Asian Bread. They sell an assortment! There are a lot of Asian bakeries to choose from and what made me come here was the chicken pie and the bbq pork pie. It's not bad, flaky, buttery, but more style over substance. At $3.40 it is on the higher end so I expected more. I grabbed the hot dog bun, and I guess I am spoiled but that was not that great. I didn't like the dough as much as I thought. The Walnut Cake, although pretty looking the cake felt a little dry. Overall, I am glad to have tried it at least once. Pick and choose at your own discretion.
This is your pretty standard neighborhood bakery. Nothing noteworthy with their prices, quality of food, etc. I got their bbq pork bun and curry pork pie, and I thought they were fine. Service was pretty speedy, and there was no one when I entered. Wouldn't rush back, but good to know my options.
Humongous bakery with so many options to choose from. They have both fresh pastries and packaged goods that are great for gifting. The interior is well decorated and there is so much to explore. They do not accept credit card for small orders and take Venmo or Zelle instead. The pastries all tasted yummy and are very affordable, of overpriced at all.
Wow sooo buttery and delicious flakyness!! It definitely feels very fattening to be eating their pastries but man they taste GOOD!! My favorites are the Chicken pie, Curry Pork pie, and BBQ pork pies. They are a bit pricey at $3.40 each but soooo delicious!!! It's cute inside and decorated well according to the season. Parking on the street/no where to eat.
This was a small hold in the wall bakery that had an extensive menu of baked goods and even boxed gifts to buy. They have lots of drinks that they offer from milk tea to coffees. I personally got a milk tea and an egg tart for a small treat and the cashier was very nice. The baked goods was solid but it could be better in my opinion. The inside had a couple seats if you wanted to eat there or most of the time people came for take out to eat at home. The ambiance was very chill.
I wish it opens at 730 so I can buy goodies before going to work Prices have gone up Chicken pie $3.40+ tax= $3.70. Almost $4 for each puff is expensive but the taste is also quite good too. Very friendly staff Not sure why they got low health score since no one can sit down and eat inside.
Very good Hong Kong bakery with all the classics, I love their custard cocktail bun especially and their traditional egg tarts, cookie crust of course. They have a new menu offering some hot cooked items like HK style pineapple bun with butter or HK style french toast with a milk tea or coffee pairing inspired by HK afternoon tea culture. Their cakes are a step above here, the only Chinese bakery I know to offer Yule Logs, and they regularly stock chestnut cake ready to go whereas its usually a special order item ahead of time at other bakeries. Definitely give them a try!
Definitely lucky to have this place a few min away to pick up pastries for breakfast. My favorites are the green onion bun & cream buns. Whenever I'm visiting my mom, I'll grab some different Dan ta (egg tarts) too. Their crispy ones are perfection! I was pleasantly surprised this visit to find such a huge selection of moon cakes for the upcoming 中秋节. They have more variety and their own brands from amazing packaging & flavors to pick from. Just the different gorgeous boxes around the cafe was very festive looking. It's the first time I actually shopped other than for pastries & found some cute kitchen towels too. I had some help from the aunties picking up a nice traditional golden to lotus with yolk box to give my mom. Very happy I saw these before scrambling to a supermarket and getting overwhelmed last minute again
Things sure have changed since the days I used to come by years ago. I rarely come to this location as i have closer ones to me. Nothing beats the original locations in Monterey Park and San Gabriel. Stopped by this place as i passed by. At first I was still happy as this location had an espresso bar/machine. So decided to get myself a Vietnamese coffee this time. The lady got a cup of ice and went to the back when the espresso machine was just behind the cashier in front of me. Why did she go to the back to get the coffee? I thought maybe they made a bunch ahead of time and kept in fridge since i got it iced? As i drank it, it tasted very familiar to me. Looked inside to see white powder floating on top then the resemblance kicked in. I went straight home to do a taste test to make sure and it is exactly like the premade 3 in 1 powder i get from the supermarket as my work stash when in need a quick cup of joe. I did not pay $4.25 to be mislead that it was fresh espresso with a machine there just so they can go to the back and mix me a G7 3in1 powder packet. I have a pic to show what it tastes exactly like, so you can be the judge next time if i am incorrect. If this is true, I hope they know that people can tell and this is not good practice and if incorrect, then why is there an espresso machine there and not used and the employee went to the back for? Still doesn't make sense to me. This location is almost much smaller with more limited selections compared to the other locations now then when it first opened. The employees at the other locations are always more welcoming also. This location was also welcoming when it first opened but things sure have changed. I came by a few weeks ago also and the lady was rude. I pressed, "i wanted a receipt" on touch pad and lady yelled at me saying "i already pressed it already why did you press it again?!"Well...how was i supposed to know when there was an option on the machine lady? She needed a chill pill. Forgot to mention one more shady thing. The last time I was here, my credit card showed they charged me 2x. They re ran my credit card the next day of the same amount. Not cool. Never coming to this location again.
I was a little scared to shop at this bakery, as I was in a totally different world of baking, and did not have my wife to rely on speaking Cantonese to bail me out. Fortunately, food is a universal language, and with coupon in hand, I received my BOGO Spam/egg Bolo without saying a word! There were displays of custard tarts and familiar dessert served on dim sum carts, but my purpose to gain a free Bolo was achieved. I would recommend that anyone gravitating towards pastries or sundries try this convenient store and deli, rather than going to Monterey Park or Chinatown.

I have t been to kee wah bakery in a while so I decided to check out their buns on a Sunday afternoon in January. They had some New Years egg rolls on sale. Lots of the buns are not displayed in the glass window so best to ask. The counter ladies are nice and speak English too, my favorite is the chicken pot pies and crispy egg rolls but I always get the original instead. The pineapple buns was soft and yummy. Also the bun in the cup hot smaller in size but still taste good. read more
Ordered egg tarts here, and loved them!! They have three kinds- original egg tart, Portuguese egg tart or a crispy crust one. I much prefer the egg part than the crust, so I ordered two of the Portuguese and two of the originals. I preferred the original egg tarts than the Portuguese ones but they were all good :) read more

This popular Hong Kong outpost has proven itself as a time-tested veteran in the bakery business. For decades this chain bake some of the softest and yet crustiest pineapple buns in SGV. While staff at other stores rush you out the door, the customer service definitely takes it home here with their patient and helpful answers. Kee Wah furnishes delicious varieties of moon cakes around the mid-autumn festival that you know its richness is addictingly heavy for your heart, but good your soul. During tea time, grab the Hong Kong milk tea combo with a bun. If picking up the thin but flaky Egg Tarts or the sweetly dense Portuguese version of the pastry, then don't forget to pick up your Groupon deal before your purchase! Ordered the chestnut cake (with extra chestnut) and it was delicious! A lot of bakeries don't make it well but Kee Wah's chestnut cake is one of the best tasting ones! There's chestnut on top of the cake and also the inside filling, the texture/taste is similar to taro paste. The cake was also super fluffy and tasted great with the fruit and the thick layer of fresh cream. My whole family enjoyed it and it's definitely one of my top favorite cakes! read more

Very friendly staff and the food is always fresh and delicious! Free drink with check in is such a nice treat, I really loved their super lemony black tea, very refreshing. Their egg tarts are delicious and was still warm, very good dough and custard flavor. Great selection of baked goods, already packaged, they make great gifts. Prices are fair and there is easy parking out back. Worth checking out. read more

This place has a great selection of baked goods. I love coming in here and picking out my favorite breads. My daughter loves the hotdog buns and my son loves the pineapple bread. I usually go for egg tarts and egg rolls. Their mooncakes are delicious as well. The staff is friendly and the place is nice, bright, and clean. They even put out a sample of breads for you to try out. Don't forget that they have a loyalty program. Every dollar you spend gets a reward point. When you gather enough points you can get $$ off or even some egg tarts! read more

I love love love the egg tarts here. Especially when it just came out of the oven. Honestly, I don't think any other bakery can compare unless we're talking about the ones in SF. I would drive the distance to come here to get egg tarts for me and my grandpa. That is how good it is...the egg tarts here are more pricey than other places but it is so worth it. I believer it is $1.80 for one. Talking about it makes me want some now lol and I jus got some like 2 days ago. read more

I was just driving through Arcadia when I got the sudden urge to eat egg tarts. After yelping a bunch of places, this place seemed to have the best reviews in the area and for GOOD REASON. Their egg tarts are probably one of the bests I have ever had! Super flaky, buttery, and crispy! My personal favorite is the Crispy Egg Tart! It was only ($12) for these 6 egg tarts making them only $2 a piece. Pls get yourself one if you ever crave one! read more

Kee Wah is one of the OG asian bakeries in the SGV. Their first location on the edge of Focus plaza in San Gabriel was ALWAYS popping and it was all about their dan ta (egg tarts). They have both portugese and "dim sum" dan ta at this location, by the way. Since Kee Wah has opened in Arcadia, I've frequented it more often. I haven't tried their bread and their mooncake is a bit too traditional for me, but the 5 stars is for their cake. We walked in and picked a big cake for a family member's birthday. We chose a beautifully decorated mango & strawberry cake. The mango handiwork was amazing - mango flowers, mango layers, etc. The cake itself was fluffy asian cake perfection - not too sweet, soft, fluffy...damn. Would definitely get the cake here again. Also, they have really cute animal shortbread (pandas, penguins, etc.) in nice packaging so great for office gifts and such. 110/365 read more
I like their baked goods and my favorite is the BBQ pork bun (just $1.90 each). The dough is soft, not dry, and there isn't excess bread. There is a decent ratio of BBQ pork. The best compliment is from my dad... he used to like any Chinese bakery but as he gets older, he is getting extremely picky. This is one of the places where he actually liked the food I got him and said to get more. There is a large menu board outside - just make a list or remember what you want, to recite to the cashier just inside the door. read more

Always love their Bolo bread and their egg tart. They have 2 types: one is cookie crust and the other one is layered crust. Both of them are delicious. I ordered 6 of each, total a dozen each time I visit. Their rice crispy is yummy along with their walnut cookies and cachew coffee coolies. Definitely a must visit place of you in San Gabriel valley area. They have stored at Arcadia, San Gabriel, Rowland heights and Monterey py. I wish they open one in Orange county soon. They also have seasonal items like moon cakes for moon festival and Chinese new year gift boxes, etc. read more

I was shocked to see my receipt after I got home. Kee wah was Dishonest overcharged me for a tiny birthday candle priced on package was $1.95 for $4 item. I bought 2 candles they charged me $8 total $4 over. read more
Love the Hong Kong bakery chain here in Arcadia. Great milk tea and espresso! The best fresh baked pineapple buns with a nice slice of butter! Great milk tea combo with toast as well plus all your other Hong Kong baked meat pies and pastries. Plenty of parking and Wifi too! read more

Came here on a Saturday (during COVID) to pick up egg tarts. They had all the safety measures. Everything was cornered off and they had plexi glass and staff wearing mask. I ordered 1 of the regular egg tarts and 2 of the extra crispy egg tarts. The extra crispy was definitely the best. Very crispy and eggy. They were $1.80 each. I tried calling to pre-order but they said just order when you get there. I parked on the street right in front but I saw a sign for rear parking. Service was just okay. She didn't let me throw my trash away but I guess it's understandable because of COVID. I love the packaging. Put the egg tarts in this nice box. I come once in a while for the cake rolls as well. First time to the Arcadia location though. I usually go to the San Gabriel one next to the Focus Plaza but I was in the area. read more

This bakery is by far the cutest bakery. The best thing in this place is the different selection of cookies. They have butter cookies shaped like little animal (panda, penguin) and they also have cookie rolls that's shaped like a cigar in chocolate vanilla and, my favorite, coffee. My mom always comes in for the cheese bread loaf. They also have different types of bread. I like their coconut bread because unlike most bakeries, this is the only bakery that has coconut bread without the raisins. Yum! Today I came in for their cake selection. And they did not disappoint. They have two clean coolers full of cakes ready for pickup. I ended up with their mango cakes, which was just the right amount of sweetest. As I was paying for the everything. I noticed that they also have boba popsicles, brown sugar popsicles filled with boba sold out in most supermarkets around the area. It was a bit on the pricey side. But it's good to know that they also sell it here. read more

On an early foggy Saturday morning, I was desperate for coffee (having just done bloodwork and fasted for 12 hours). Lucky for me, I passed by Kee Wah and found parking on the street right in front. What I ended up with was the most delicious pineapple bun. I'm usually not a fan of pineapple baked buns, especially not at dim sum places. My preference is usually the steamed pork bun, custard bun--you name it. But when I stepped in, I saw that the menu had a combination item for pineapple bun--warmed and freshly baked--with melted butter and a coffee. Granted, the coffee was not a latte, but for $1, I can upgrade to a latte, for a total of $5.25 for the combo. I expected the little pineapple buns I typically see at other bakeries, but Kee Wah's was huge! The faint saltiness of the butter complements the sweetness of this bun so well. The sweetness of it is usually what I dislike, so this definitely made it better. I totally expected this to be a mooncale bakery because that's all I ever went to Kee Wah for in the past. There are tables inside and outside for anyone to drop by and chill. It's nice to see a mini cafe stem from such a popularized traditional bakery. read more

A lot of people that tried the cake loved the texture and how moist and flavorful the cake was. This looks WAY more expensive than what it really is. Kee Wah Bakery is my go to for egg tarts! They make 3 different kinds of egg tarts: Original, Crispy and Portuguese. The crispy version has an egg-cellent crust! Pineapple cocktail bun 菠蘿奶酥包: delicious!!! The bolo crust is 10000x better than that of 85 degrees Hot Hong Kong style Milk tea: surprisingly good for a bakery Egg tart: the egg tarts had been sitting there all day and the custard was not jiggly anymore. I wouldn't recommend it Butter filled pineapple bun: now this is a legit bolo yau! Make sure to pair it with a hot cup of milk tea and have the staff heat up the bun in the oven for you. I came here specifically for a fruit tart which was absolutely tasty. The tart consists of a custard filling topped with 4 types of fruit (strawberry, kiwi, cantaloupe and mango). Totally satisfied my craving. The real bonus today for my visit here is that they sell the newest hyped up food craze...小美 brown sugar boba ice cream bars individually or by the box of 4. I bought a bar to eat as my breakfast as I drove to work lol. Here's my thought on that.小美 BROWN SUGAR BOBA ICE CREAM!!! Gorgeous ass ice cream bar...Damn I finally get to try this ice cream and good lord where the fuck have you been all my life??? The hype is so real about this ice cream!!! It's literally perfect in taste and texture. It's fucken amazing that boba is so soft and chewy even though it's been frozen...dude I'm so in love with this. They only have them once a year for the Moon Festival. So they probably won't have them again until August 2021.
