As were the roasted vegetables. The Pulau (rice) was spot on. Baklava and other instagrammable pastries were on show. The stuffed peppers were yummy. The entree that I could not get enough of was the moussaka. Whereas the Greek version is often mild and homogeneous, this Turkish version is much louder in flavors and punchier. Lets talk about Kouzina...having read several of the reviews I am obliged to say that the message…read moreof Kouzina is not to be a greek gastronomy specialist in the market - yes it does serve so called greek food, but it's not authentically greek at all - they have greek influences and the buck stops there. Having eaten at Myk a few times and been at Kouzina a couple of times - the difference is clear. Kouzina is quick, smartly priced, "greek-inspired" Brazilian food that actually works quite well. I've only been here for lunch and ordered their dish of the day on both occasions - once it was a 'picadinho de cordeiro' and the second time a basic spaghetti with calamaris - on both occasions I was with friends and we landed up sharing a salad (recommend the Myk salad). The food is fresh, service doesn't take long, you can practically see your food being prepared in their class walled busy & efficient kitchen. Also tried their dessert - a slice of warm chocolate cake with a scoop of coffee ice-cream and the turkish (greek) coffee - no complaints at all. I wouldn't call the food great but the service is friendly and the ambience is cool and yes, it is quite well priced especially for the region where it is located. Kouzina is slightly cramped, as Hans O. puts it in his review, the space between the tables is quite narrow, but hey, its a restaurant where your dish of the day (extremely wells served portion) comes for under R$ 35 - the service is friendly and you get bang for your buck. Kouzina is a restaurante owned by a group that has has greek investors - they have been expanding rapidly in Jardins and each of their establishments meet the purpose & market they are meant to cater to. Recommend it for a quick lunch - just tone down your 'greek' expectations !

I was first introduced to this dish as a teenager, and I fell in love with it at once. I enjoyed my meal, but the tzatziki could use some more dill and garlic IMO. So, KS although has a Turkish name and Turkish on menu, it's actually owned by a Brazilian whom lived in Istambul and is Italian descent. What can you expect out of it? Pretty darn food. Falafel sandwich: perfectly layered lettuce, grilled eggplant, fresh and crunchy cabbage, house made tahini sauce, crunchy on the outside and juice inside falafel nuggets. I have eaten a lot of falafels, but this one is packed with more spices than usual, not traditional but very yum. Lamb kebab sandwich: perfectly charred juice, tender lamb kebob. Grilled veggies and perfectly assembled sandwich. Sfiha: one of the best in town IMHO and pretty affordable compared to most Esfiha shops around town. KS's sfiha is pretty awesome because it's made with beef, brushed with lamb's grease for aroma and taste, and it uses lavosh dough keeping it very light, crunchy, and not doughy. Plus for R$ 3.90, it's unbeatable! Pet peeves I have about dining in, is that wait service is partial; have to physically order at the cashier window, wait staff delivers to you but nothing can be ordered with the waiting staff. They have a fridge filled with Heineken beer and a few artisanal brews but expect to pay about R$ 23 per bottle. The cool part about it is that is BYOB friendly.

My husband and I load up on those with sides of hummus, and we are happy campers for the night. There have been many Sundays that we stayed in dedicating to watching football (NFL) that was catered sole by Arabie. The food always arrived in under 45 minutes, and it was always fresh and hot. Any time my husband asks me if I want takeout, this is my go-to.
