The First Grail - by M. Keane
    Albert K.

KEANE EYES This is the famed gallery of Margaret Keane, Yes! from the movie Big Eyes!! BIG EYES We actually stumbled upon this gallery wandering around Ghirardelli Square in SF, I was so perplexed when I saw the one-of-a-kind waifs 0 0 in the huge window from the street. I thought, "this looks familiar." My friends turned back and wondered why I had stopped. I said "Guys, we have to go in" 'KEEN' EYES Wow. We walk in and HUNDREDS of eyes are staring at us. Not human, the paintings. Just like the movie (directed by Tim Burton), these big, huge, emotional eyes made me reflect and think, on who I am and the power of human emotion - I was overcome. I was told not to take pictures and I respected that. I told my friends about the movie and Margaret Keane's struggle. They really loved her artwork. The gallery manager came over and helped us, talked to us about the movie, and educated on us about her life. He was so informative and very kind! I had no idea she was still alive; she IS alive and STILL painting, every day! She lives in the Bay Area too. Her current works of art hang in the gallery as recent as 2014! and of course, some of her earliest works hang too; I saw one dated.. 1965! From 1965 to today, wow, I really admire her tenacity and drive! As per prices, most originals were "Priced upon request", a few others around ~$3000-7000, numbered canvas prints and lithos (sometimes 300 max) were ~$300-2000, but admission and viewing of the gallery is FREE :D If you're a local who has never experienced it, or out of town planning a SF visit, I highly recommend a stop at this gallery! It's definitely worth it :) Attached online images of my personal favorites! The First Grail is one of her better-known pieces

We visited the Keane Eyes Gallery after watching the excellent Tim Burton film "Big Eyes". It was pretty awesome to actually see Margaret Keane's artwork in person. My personal favorite gallery piece had to be one of a young girl with a flower in her hair, which looked quite Hawaii-inspired. The gentleman at the gallery we spoke with was very sociable and insightful, talking with us about Margaret, her work, and the recent film. If you enjoyed the "Big Eyes" film, then a visit to her Keane Eyes Gallery is a definite must!

I was in San Francisco on business, but wanted to see Margaret Keane's gallery while I was there.

What is even better is seeing creators from around the world come to San Francisco for the Game Developers Conference. I attended the "To the Supercell Game Changers Women Driving The Industry Forward" event at Chandran Gallery around the Union Square area of San Francisco . It's good to see the diversity of people from different countries like Finland and Germany developing games for the masses and growing their brand. I also enjoyed the space which had delicious food like sushi and an open bar with wine , curated alcoholic drinks and music to enhance the experience . A good art gallery space to see art and to attend events. The event was multidimensional and influential. The good vibes inside are contagious and the gallery space is very spacious A space for artists to display art which is courageous and audacious

I thought this was a wonderful idea because you will have a limited number of people during your selected time. I lucked out and was the only person in my time slot, so I had the whole exhibit to myself. I was able to take all the pictures I wanted and spend time in this beautiful, immersive piece. I've been here once before coincidentally for the same artist without the reservation times and we definitely had to wait for other people to be done so we could take our pics. It's hard to tell when you're at an exhibit and want to take pictures with out strangers in them.

Yes having Dolores Park as your school yard and the place to spend your lunch period and some after school activities was happening all four seasons of the year not just on April 15 or 4/15 now also known as 415 day. The corporations and other entities start capitalizing on some underground fun. Now it's celebrated throughout San Francisco with people wearing items and gear which has something San Francisco on it. How I still celebrate it is going to a park in San Francisco with a favorite adult beverage currently it's a bottle of Pinot Noir for Don Juan Pinot Noir. Whether Dolores Park or Golden Park you can represent all four seasons in San Francisco by visiting that Park Life. On an April stroll in San Francisco finding where to park on Clement street can sometimes be a challenge in San Francisco. You can see people camping out for parking spots on Clement street ( like at Costco in SF). Park Life is a store on Clement street between 3rd and 4th Avenue which has items with themes of San Francisco. You will find art and stationaries. You will also see bags ,clothing, and hats with San Francisco on it that don't look like you picked it up at a souvenir shop at the Tourist trap in SF. You will also find some interesting books inside. There is a small art gallery in the back of the store . This is a good place to get a treat for yourself or grab a gift for others and have fun at a local San Francisco park . Whether it's Golden Gate Park, Duboce Park, McLaren Park, Mount Davison Park, Sue Bierman Park, Lafayette Park, Precita Park, Bernal Heights Park, Alamo Square Park, Washington Square Park, Dolores Park, Franklin Square Park, Presidio Tunnel Tops Park or Glen Park , etc. This place in San Francisco is all about that Park Life. Born and raised in San Francisco I am straight out the"golden gates "to me it's always San Francisco and I only call it the other term which is SF I am not the one who "participates "calling San Francisco different nicknames on social media or in person"debates" I just know San Francisco is the best city in the "United States" Go take a stroll to San Francisco by the Pacific Ocean and not the" Hormuz Strait" to the day I like to "celebrate" in San Francisco on April 15 also known as 415 but there is also another" date " I partake which is on June 28th also known as the other San Francisco area code the "628"
