The experience of using her for my CPA was completely different compared to the previous one I had. She was very detailed and meticulous in checking each detail of my situation, and also didn't pretend to know everything - if there was an issue that she wasn't clear about, she didn't hesitate to look up the necessary IRS documentation to make sure that we weren't making any mistakes. Even after our meetings in-person going over documents, she would also follow-up and double-check to make sure that I hadn't inadvertently overlooked something (and she did find a bunch of details that I had filled in incorrectly as well through this process!) She was also more interested in making sure that I understood the process and what each document was for, rather than just taking everything into her own hands and just asking me to "rubber-stamp" documents. I had a question about my return, and never got a response but I let it go. The next year I no longer had a rental property, but just had a simple return and it still cost just as much. It cost hundreds more than my boyfriend's return even though he had two rental properties and I had none. When I called the office several times and got no response to my question about a possible billing error. I sent an email, but still got no response. My boyfriend never had this problem. My theory that the tax preparer doesn't seem to want my business was confirmed when I finally talked to him. He threatened to not give me my taxes at the 11th hour if I didn't agree to the different rates charged to different clients. Maybe there is one rate for men and one for women...or maybe he just wanted me to go away? At any rate, I can't remember any business owner treating me with that nasty or snarky of a tone before. Save your money and get Turbo tax with live support. they are far more professional, kind, helpful, and I saved hundreds of dollars.
