Kaufland is a rather nice supermarket located on Karl-Liebknech Str in Berlin, as you walk in, it feels more like a mall due to having a separate cigarette shop, rather than just a stand which sells cigarettes, chocolates, and lottery within the shop, as I'd expect to find in a UK supermarket.
This store had an average selection of products yet the selection of Starbucks iced beverages impressed me, even selling a bottled Iced Hazelnut Macchiato, which I have not seen sold in the UK before, which only sell the caramel one.
The store process was made slightly easier through self-service scanning machines, which avoided an awkward confrontation with an employee at a staffed till, where of course there would be a language barrier as I don't speak German.
The prices were competitive and the overall layout of the store was okay, albeit a little confusing at times.
The selection overall was nothing more than okay, and the Hazelnut Macchiatos being stocked here was a highlight, but I feel Kaufland here deserves nothing over a two-star rating based on what has been discussed in my review. read more
