Definitely a great value for what you pay, especially for a place with such great views over the…read moreheart of the middle-Rhine river valley. From the train station it is a pretty good walk uphill, ~100m vertically, and in the dark a flashlight will be helpful on the path (didn't feel unsafe, but it is unlit). To find the path take Rhinelanderweg (just to the left of the church) up the hill from the train station and look for a small sign on your right a couple hundred meters up the street, that will point you up the walking path. If you're driving, that road is narrow, but there is a pretty good amount of parking available.
Our room was decent sized, and the bathroom was substantial, with bunk beds for three. All the linens and such were basic but clean, and the breakfast was similarly basic (spread of breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, musli, etc) but fine.
There were a couple quirks keeping me from giving a better rating though; no free internet (it's 2016, buy a couple routers, add €1 pp per night, and let me have free internet), and checkout is 0930 which is awfully early.
