Underpaid for ecommerce position. Shady company. Glad I quit so they didn't get any money out of me. STAY AWAY..:....

A recruiter approached me this past December after submitted an application through Craigslist…read more(first mistake). Recently I moved across the country and am not only unfamiliar with the companies out here, but I haven't had the opportunity to create a business network yet. When the recruited contacted me, he said he was following up from the Craigslist posting and while that position was filled he wanted me to come into the office because he knows of another great fit. I think it was a tacky way of connecting with me, he could have just called directly and spoke to his services that he has to offer. Lastly, I showed up for the "interview" and the office was not welcoming. There were two doors in the waiting room and no windows or someone to greet me. I opened one of the doors and it was a storage closet, the second door had a few people from the office and a baby when I first walked in. I understand it was around the Holidays and I am all about "casual Friday's", however; it was odd to not be greeted professionally when I had a scheduled appointment. I thought the meeting went pretty well overall, aside from me having to help the recruiter through some of the steps. He mentioned a few great positions available and we were able to build rapport on the topic of Atlanta and places to hike. He suggested introducing me to the business developer/manager who works directly with the clients, but unfortunately wasn't able to introduce me to any of the managers because they were either unavailable or out of the office. After our conversation, there were two jobs I was interested in. He said he would follow-up with me and be sure to send me the job descriptions of those positions. In conclusion, after reaching out to the recruiter several times by phone and email, he never responded to me. I could not get past how unprofessional my experience was overall, So I ended up reaching out to the recruiters direct supervisor a month later and received the same level of customer service (sarcasm). His response was much like his employees; only he was making excuses for the recruiter. This was the email response I received: "Thank you for the message. I actually am his direct supervisor, so I will address it with him. The holidays are a tricky time, so I am sure there is a reason for no follow-up, but not an excuse. It could have been that the client never got back to us, or something out of our control, but either way, a follow-up should have happened. I will look through your information/paperwork and see what we have going on. Also, feel free to look on our website at any opportunities that you might be interested in. Keep in mind though, each recruiter here meets 30-40 candidates per week, so that is a lot of names/faces to remember. He is still new, so he is still learning and improving, but it definitely will not happen again." Needless to say, I will not be using their service nor do I recommend this agency to anyone.
