Avoid Katharina Thinnes at all costs! She took my condo listing, although it was far below the price point at which she typically operates. She basically wanted a quick commission and didn't want to spend any time at all showing the condo. She made the eight potential buyers who initially expressed interest as soon as the condo hit MLS to wait four days before she would show it. She also only alloted 1 hour total for all eight potential buyers, running off to another appointment and leaving me to deal with several people who showed up for a second look.
She didn't know the market in that complex, and underpriced the unit. I felt that the price I accepted was too low, and there were several times during the escrow period that I could have given notice to cancel. However, Katharina dragged her feet on sending the notices, and gave the buyer's agent a "heads up" that we were about to send a cancellation notice, at which point the buyer performed before we could cancel. This cost be approximately $25-35,000 in additional sales price that I could have received by putting the condo back on the market. Smaller units that had less amenities and were not as well-updated sold shortly thereafter for a lot more money. read more
