I was born with many blessings, but a bubble-butt isn't one of those gifts, so tailoring is essential. Southern Indiana winter for a Southern Californian means new clothes. I bought a pair of heavy wool pants on eBay that were a little tight in the waist and had a pair of vintage wool pants that belonged to my stepfather that were easily three sizes too big (long and baggy). Both needed alterations. Garden View Creations wasn't my first choice because the pictures made me think they specialized in wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses and I've had men's pants turned into ladies capris by such specialists, but the other tailor I called never responded, so I gave them a call. I am so happy that I met Dorita, the owner of Garden View Creations! She did an amazing job altering the eBay pants and completely transformed my step father's pants to make them fit me. Dorita has an excellent eye, and more importantly, an excellent ear. Everyone has a different sense of style and hearing what a client wants is paramount for tailoring. I'm so happy with Dorita's work that I dropped off another pair of pants and will bring her any new clothes I buy while I live in the area. Thank you, Dorita! This guy is so mean and disrespectful to women! ** I told him that there's a line of buttons on the back of my dress that I needed help buttoning up (since I came alone) and when I came out of the fitting room to get assistance, the first thing he said was, "Yikes. I feel sorry for your fiance because you decided to pick *THIS* dress" (Which, side note, my fiance was the one that picked it out, so I just brushed it off) Then he was making backhanded comments the entire time like, "I hope you aren't going to gain weight before the wedding" (Another side note, I'm 105 pounds on a heavy day. My dress is NOT tight on me. I shouldn't feel like I need to lose more weight. And I hope to GOD that he doesn't say things like that to someone with an eating disorder, someone battling depression, someone who gains weight due to birth control, someone who has been poked fun of their entire life about their weight, someone who's sensitive about her weight or literally anything regarding weight to another woman's face). THEN someone who came in before me just found out that she's 3 months pregnant and needed to come in to see what she could do to her dress and when she left, he said, "please promise me you aren't going to get pregnant before the wedding like she did. I don't know why she decided to do that." -- And that's when my heart SANK because I've been trying to have a kid for 5 years and we're battling infertility at the moment, so that comment WRECKED me. Having someone "hope" that I don't gain weight or get pregnant is absolutely DISGUSTING. A man should NEVER comment on a woman's weight, and even more so, shouldn't be talking bad about a paying customer to another paying customer. THEN, after only needing a hem, he proceeds to charge me almost $500! I was only there for 20 minutes and in that time, he managed to insult me and another customer behind her back. That speaks LOUD about how he is as a person. If you've ever been to him, just note that if he didn't talk bad to your face, he probably talked bad about you to someone else.. more than likely to another customer. This man is an absolute pig to women. I left sobbing. After I told my fiance what was said, he came in, ordered that I got a refund and left. Then and ONLY then, did I get a message apologizing so he could avoid getting a negative review. (I have screenshots if you want me to send them to you) This man told me he feels bad for my fiance because of my choice of dress, he told me he hopes I don't gain weight before the wedding, he told me to promise him that I won't get pregnant before the wedding, he talked bad about the pregnant bride that came in before me, he overcharged like CRAZY and he sent me a text begging me to forgive him so I wouldn't leave a a review on my experience. Please don't let your daughter, sister, fiance, niece, friend, or yourself be subjected to this man. He will ruin your once-in-a-lifetime experience.
