Might be the doctors are overworked and have not enough time for the patients. If you care about your health or your kids, don't bring them here. Was yelled at and belittled by a doctor here repeatedly since day one. Was told I could not get off of a medicine, when I brought it up, and I had also let him know I had consulted another provider who suggested it could be a good idea. Was yelled at, told no, and I realized then he didn't actually care about my health.

Rude, uncompassionate staff that only cares about getting paid. Not about their patients! Simple as that -- Was never a patient there my doctor transferred to there then retired. I used to be telehealth they switched that. Not me. It was hard without a car...they then tried to switch me to a suboxone shot instead of the medication I had been diligently taking for 10 years without a problem (with a plan in action to wean down). My old doctor retired and they then cancelled me as a patient because I missed an appt. this medication isn't something you can just cut someone off of. I would never again recommend anyone ever go to these crooks. I WAS SO UPSET WHEN I HEARD HE WAS TRANSFERRING THERE. then retired and left me with these people who don't care. They don't listen. They want your money that's all and will screw you over without a second thought.

Clients beware! If I could give them a negative review, I would. The owner and lead therapist,…read moreTina, is biased and thinks way too highly of herself. She bases her biases on the play therapy she is doing and is not self-aware enough to understand that play therapy must be done in a very specific way for it not to be biased. She does not run her business in the way that play therapy is done correctly. She makes overarching assumptions based on a child's play, and much of these assumptions are 100% untrue and just not accurate. The quality of care my children have received there are sub-par, one of my children is terrified of Tina, claiming that if she tries to get help from her, she will tell her other parent, of whom she is afraid. I am told no follow-up questions are asked of the child and sometimes some follow-up with especially older children is needed to figure out the real issues. If you cannot get the appropriate information from play or if the information is then incorrect what is the point of doing play therapy at all? Tina also uses interns. These interns build up a rapport with your child and then leave the practice. I understand the need of students to get practice hours and need a place to train for their degree. I do not fault them for needing to work somewhere. My issue is how the owner incorporates interns into the sessions. Tina is not around when these sessions with interns are happening and is often not even in the building. I am sure they meet later to discuss a client, however, for the most part she is completely out of the loop and it is tough to know how much that happens. I find working with individuals who think super highly of themselves that that they cannot admit any fault or if issues could be possible to be very difficult. I find them to be more concerned with themselves than their clients. Tina is one of these types of people. She knows it all, and thinks everything she does is perfect and without reproach. If your child is a good communicator, stay away from this office! You are better off going to a REAL talk therapist. I would say any child over 7 has outgrown this kind of therapy. Tina is not easy to work with overall, thinks highly of herself, and is a terrible communicator. Stay away from this practice!

Next Step Counseling works with all ages including youth, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric populations. Next Step Counseling specializes in Child-centered play therapy (CCPT). Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) is a form of therapy designed specifically for children, based on the belief that play is a child’s natural language and way of expressing thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In CCPT, the therapist provides a safe, accepting, and structured play environment where the child can freely express themselves through play. The therapist takes a non-directive role, meaning they do not guide or control the play but instead follow the child’s lead. Along with CCPT, Next Step Counseling provides services including Individual, Group, Couples, and Family therapy! Next Step Counseling currently practices in Rhode Island and Connecticut!
