Once inside the seating is a bit tight, but not uncomfortable. Service is reasonably fast, and food is on the table quickly. Some of the dishes are a bit odd, but most are yummy! Not much in the way of childrens food, but not the sort of place you'd like to take the kids anyway! Friendly staff, and good atmosphere.

I thought that looked strange but then I thought maybe one portion is two papadums at this restaurant. But no, later he charged us for two portions! I ordered the 5 course meal cause it was a Thursday. My sister only wanted a main dish and rice. He tried pushing us to order more and more. We did not. He brought her an extra starter, which we found strange and we were sure he wouldn't charge for it - we thought maybe it was a treat, since we did not order it. My sister did not touch it, she did not want that much food so why should she be forced to eat it? Then he told us it was better for her to get the 5 course deal which was not true because she ended up paying more and for things she did not order! When we challenged him he should have accepted his mistake but he insisted that he was right. Plus he did not offer us the coffee or ice cream that goes with the Bengal Nights meal. We forgot about it and we realized it later when we re-read the leaflet menu. He should have reminded us and asked us if we wanted coffee or ice cream. But he wanted to save the expense. The food was below average, probably all cooked from frozen. Zero ambience. Temperature too cold in the middle of winter. Dirty toilets. A thief. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This restaraunt has some of the best starters around.The onion bhaji's are crispy and sufficiently fried, the mixed kebab is good , but the star of the show is the fish kebab starter which is something i have never seen in any Indian restaraunt. It is like a minced fish, egg pate fried and tastes incredible particularly with the nan breads here which are amongst the best i have ever tried,with a sweet texture of nan flower and ghee.For the main dishes I tried a lamb karahi and tarka dall both of which were excellent. The restaraunt is a little expensive but the service is good. Many local "celebrities" such as John Nettles enjoy going to this place, and I can see why. Excellent

Jeera offers the usual indian fare and dishes are very well presented, if a little tame with the spicyness. They also offer a takeaway service in the local area, which is weel worth considering.
