My fiance works on an oil tanker and was in port for a week. Left with nothing to do for most of…read morethe day, I decided to make the 2 mile trek to the Fine Arts Center. Their website was a little confusing. They have hours for other events on their homepage, while the actual art center hours are in microscopic print at the bottom of the page. Misreading their website, I showed up to find the actual museum closed. Though disappointed, I decided to check out the Webster Trail so that my trip wouldn't be a total loss. The trail had a little bit of a Blair Witch feel. It was really quite creepy. I started out being really confused and creeped out by the art style of the Webster Trail, but at some point, I became enthralled and ended up spending over an hour going down different trails and looking for new pieces of art. The crazy thing was that I could go back to the same trail and find things I hadn't noticed before. I'm sure there were trails I missed. Some of them were difficult to find! My overall experience at the Fine Arts Center was really a lot of fun! Though I didn't get to go inside, I loved it and would love to take my fiance to see everything! My only complaint is that their hours should be more visible on their website, but that's my fault for not reading carefully.

You had to look up and down every few steps to not miss something. I found it cool that they also had inspirational signs as well as ones asking questions, inviting guests to think about deeper things. Some items apparently are designed to decay with the forest. Not all items had signs to describe the art or even give it a title. You just had to roll with it.
