Before we get off track, let's get back to my opening line; when my life is in shambles, I come to V Room. It's fun, it has great music and things just don't feel as bad here. My last venture to ye olde V, my roommate broke up a fight in the girls room, my friends and I drunkenly sang along to Iggy Pop, and a hipster girl was hoisted out by the straps of her 90s era child's backpack. So, all things considered, my life may be in shambles, but at least I'm not brawling in the girls room. The drinks rule and the bartenders are the BEST.

This review is focused on the food and main dining room. Our April visit was centered around a "buffet" style food showcase, which included a speical musical performance after dinner. The food, drink, and music were ABSOLUTLEY on point, what an exceptional night. Some of the food included a bruschetta salad, clam chowder, GIANT unshelled shrimp, crab cakes (my favorite), brussels sprouts, steak and white fish. My compliments to the chef and his staff, the Maître D', Francisco ensured the evening ran to perfection, and we got very attentive table service from Brian. It would not be a proper evening without some libations. The night started with a champagne toast and then transitioned into a few specialty scratch drinks, it was my first introduction to the Paper Plane which is crafted with equal parts bourbon, Amaro Nonino, Aperol and lemon juice. #tasty. I was also handed (big arm twist) a mezcal tequila creation which was, delicioso. The night concluded with a bold, yet smooth glass of Cabernet and an assortment of desserts. I felt fat and happy, just saying. We had a great table which afforded a view off the band and a scenic look out onto the 10th hole, one side of the restaurant has open air capabilities, which was being utilized on this idyllic Friday evening. The main dining room has great vaulted ceilings and perfect acoustics, a really nice setting. We were treated to the musical stylings of Joe Horowitz, Adrian Young, Dr. Todd Forman, and a cameo by a female vocalist, who was G-O-O-D. It was a fun set and a perfect way to conclude the evening. It has been completely life-changing for her. Before joining, she didn't have many opportunities for social interaction during the day. Now she is absolutely thriving. She enjoys the daily social activities, and most importantly, she looks forward to going to the Clubhouse every single day. The program does an amazing job creating structured days filled with engaging activities, and they even organize occasional outings into the community, which she loves. The meals are also great -- breakfast and lunch are served. The staff truly care about the members and create a welcoming, positive environment where everyone feels included and valued. I left for a while because of her, she just kept showing up in my space, but that was my choice to leave. Fast forward to the pandemic I did try to rejoin online and I was met with that same woman who I did try to extend an Olive branch to, since she was struggling and kept "showing up". She was the same trauma dumper, yet didn't remember me. But something that came to light is that I was not allowed to join the book group that she had created. As I got better, I thought about going back in spite of this woman, but then I saw that she is part of faculty Ultimately I decided that a group that would support someone with that behavior, in the way that they did is not the right group for me. I probably should have and I thought about contacting leaders in this group, but at that time, my nervous system was not in a place to defend myself and it's somehow felt small and petty. Better to let her have her way. However, six years later, I see that this is not the Buddhist way, which is the way they follow. I was not shown loving kindness in a time when I really needed it.

They were able to read the crowd (ages ranged from 30-60 yrs of age!) and kept the dance floor going - everyone happy and having fun. Tessa was also a great emcee when needed - she spoke clearly and projected! From set up to breakdown - they were fantastic! I highly recommend Blackbook Social Club for all your party/event needs!!
