This review is my 900th!
I was pretty exhausted arriving at Karlskrona Central. I didn't even bother taking any photos that day.
I did wander into the station itself. There is a convenience store where you can buy snacks and drinks. There are also washrooms where you need to pay to use them. Credit cards are accepted.
I made the mistake of rolling my computer bag and luggage over the cobblestones in front of the station to the hotel. Karlskrona has cobblestones everywhere, which makes rolling anything over them a challenge. I figured out a better route to avoid these cobblestones going to the station from my hotel. The idea is to go onto the platform and avoid the main entrance to the train station.
My cell phone contract is nearly up. My cell phone, at 34% battery life, died as I barely walked away from the train station. I knew that I was a five-minute walk away from my hotel, but I asked a cab driver, who was off-shift and parked in front of the station, how to get there. He was friendly and gave me directions.
I caught the 5:47 am train on a Saturday at this station to head back to Copenhagen a week later. The train was waiting there. I looked at the schedule and it clearly said which track out of the two that I needed. I got on the train without a hitch.
I had a nice conductor who kept me informed on various issues along the way. One was a cargo train that was blocking our route. The other was a transfer at Malmo station. His English was impeccable and I appreciated his help.
I passed by this station one evening to get to Lidl to get chocolate and snacks. It's a fairly modern-looking station. It also has buses. Karlskrona is so small that you almost don't need a bus to get anywhere, but I'm glad that the bus system is there.
