It's on the outside of a small food mall, which also includes a Subway, Hessburger and a steak house. The Little Big Cafe offers an incredible hot dog experience. We opted for their signature Kassler Dog, which is a hot dog wrapped in ham, and prepared with a sticky, sweet BBQ sauce, a sugary mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard. The hot dog bun is more of a multi-grain, french roll...fresh and delicious. If you have a hot dog craving, this is the place to try. #LittleBigCafe is not the easiest place to find, but with Google Maps on my iPhone, I had no problem walking to it from the city center. If you plan to walk, wear good walking shoes: It's about 2.5km from the center.

You can either decide on one of the three normal lunch offer of which one is always either a salad or soup. Otherwise get one of their delicious pies, sandwiches or especially hot dogs that come in many different kinds. They also have nice deserts if you are up for something sweet afterwards. During the winter you can only visit their cafe on the second floor. In spring they also open an outside take-away that offers some other food as well.

Before you get in line to queue for a taxi or try to catch one of the rare night busses to get back home you'd love to have a "small" snack. Well, fortunately there is Pikku Jaska. It's a tiny grill right in the center between Lasipalatsi and Forum. This place is the little brother of Jaskan Grilli in Töölö. Both places are legendary among locals. This is where you get your unhealthy midnight snack. And they have exactly what you need after a few drinks. Try for example pyttipannu (fried potatoes with pieces of bacon and sausage) or makkaraperunat (French fries with sausage). Yes sure, it's not exactly the best food for a healthy diet. But let's face it, the evening was anyway not healthy at all. And a good portion from Jaska does one thing for sure - saving you from a major hangover tomorrow.

Found Torin Kahvipaikka at Kauppatori in Helsinki, Finland. They had a food stand with a few…read moretables at this open air market. Wifey and I shared a quick snack. I was pleased with our meat pie and cinnamon bun. The meat pie was yummy! Cinnamon Bun was good, but a bit dry tasting. Without a doubt, I'd return to this food vendor. Prices were reasonable, and the staff was kind & helpful. Maybe some day, I'll be back!

The market here is open pretty much everyday (except in the winter when they are limited to fewer…read moreshops indoor) and is one of the tourist spot to stop by, either for a regular city tour or while waiting for a ferry to Suomenlinna. The shops sell things ranging from crafts and souvenir to fresh produces like berries and veggies and cafe food. It's a nice quick stroll to see Helsinki life :) (though many tourists come here more than locals I think). Pluses are that there's no entrance fee but, as a big foodie fan, I wish they have more selection for edible food to try out!
