I've gotten pierced here before, my first red flag should've been that they offer smileys. My vertical labret turned out okay, when I went in for a jewelry downsize they didn't have the jewelry size I needed and I had to come back. I called to ask to book a tattoo a few weeks later, they told me Facebook messenger was the best way to reach the artists for a booking. I sent a message with reference photos and what I wanted in detail and was left on read for a full day of them being open. I sent another message the following day and was left on read all day again. No communication whatsoever, no "we don't want to do this piece" or even "we will get back to you". Why open the message if you're not going to respond in a business chat? I ended up booking with another shop. read more

I've been a customer here for over 4 plus years. This review is solely on the Friday the 13th experience. I am generally very happy with all my experiences here and am very appreciative to the staff for being up beat considering how crazy it was. That being said, it was a mess! I don't think they were prepared for the sheer numbers of people that turned out! They have remodeled the Starship space finally so there is a long hall that leads to the shop. They divided the space so there is another business to the left. I thought they would have added more shop space? There are 5 rooms. One larger room was shared by two artists. One room for piercing The theming is finally complete with a superhero decor. A Batman costume and a case with Dead Pool and other characters. A huge Joker mural is on another wall. Our room had TMNT. They had people (maybe 30 deep lining the long hall leading to the shop. We made appointments for 5 and 5:30pm. We weren't seen until nearly 8! They took an appointment from 6pm before us which I was a bit mad about. The waiting appointment sheets were all laying out on the counter. We got there at 4:30PM. We hadn't eaten since 1 ish. The staff was super cool and gave me a brownie when I was feeling low sugar. I'm glad we got in period but they needed more artists. There was just no where to put them. They were booking the people that made appointments to the next day. We come to normal pre Covid 13th events and this one was crazy. Thanks to Tym and the staff for keeping it together! We are appreciative they did this pending pre Covid lockdown again. The tattoos them selves are bigger than the 2x2 tattoos most places offer. They are more like 4x4 for $50. They included shading. And they offer color $20 which adds to the time. They also didn't limit one per customer which added to time and set up. This hinders the amount of people each artist could turnover. read more

I came here years ago when it was Starship. They're now owned by new management/owner. Came here during Covid-19. Everyone was wearing a mask and gloves (when appropriate). The owner was there when we came in to get a piercing. We went during the week and they closed at 6pm when I called. We were able to just walk in and get it done. When we first got there the decor looked really cool! They did a DC theme and it was really colorful and all put together! The owner was really nice and they were welcoming. My best friend got her nose pierced and the materials were clean. The business itself was clean as well. They were really nice when it came to her getting her nose pierced. She felt like she was going to pass out and they helped calm her down with a wet cloth on her forehead and grabbed her water. I would only suggest that they explain what they're going to be doing while they're doing it so then you're aware of what's happening. At the end they give you a pamphlet on how to take care of your piercing, and they'll let you come back to change it out or clean it for you until you're used to it. If you're looking to get a piercing done I would definitely try this place out! It's clean, the people are friendly, and they know what they're doing. read more

I only gave 3 stars because it looks like she pierced me wrong and took it out without telling me. The piercings did not hurt and she was so super sweet! I really wish she would have been up front with me and said she pierced them wrong and that she will pierce them again but she said nothing. I can see the holes where she messed up. Anyway would go there again because the customer service is excellent. This is my ear 5 days out and healing great! Hope to get my helix done in a few more months! read more

This place is a joke. No one is wearing masks. It took me forever to get what I wanted across to the artist. At that point, I should have left but I was excited to get my tattoo to signify my one year of being cancer free. The artist was super antisocial. And all of the other people in the store were rude too. It was like if you didn't look like them, they treated you like shit. So disappointed. read more

if I could give zero stars I truly would. My best friend and I went in for nipple piercings. The piercer did not ask if we wanted one or both done, just assumed both. The process was very painful and was in so much pain. I never want to go through that type of pain EVER again. Getting my nipples pierced, hurt more than getting a tattoo in the most sensitive spot- I wish I was joking. I handle pain very well, but as soon as the needle went through, I went pale, was in so much pain and almost fainted. Not once did the piercer ask if I was okay or if I needed a minute. When my friend got hers done, the piercer tried opening to door when my friend did not anything to cover herself with. My friend also had to go in the next day to fix hers since the piercer messed it up the first time. read more

TLDR: expected to pay $45 + tip and be in and out in under half an hour, paid twice that and spent 3x as much time there for something I don't even really love. Typically I go to a very nice shop with only APP member piercers, but am home for the summer and wanted a new piercing so I thought I'd give this place a shot. Not a fan - after waiting nearly an hour (some of which I can understand, as they had to sanitize my jewelry, but an HOUR??), found out I couldn't get the piercing where I wanted (she did work with me to find a placement I liked, though had I not already invested an hour of my time here I would have left and reworked my ear plans). They advertise here that cartilage piercings are $45 including jewelry - but that is evidently not true. I justified going to a place with non APP member piercers and someone who's work I could not find online largely due to the decreased cost. However, once the jewelry was already IN MY EAR, I was informed that it would be an extra $40 for the jewelry (as a reference, pre-tip this was more expensive than the downtown, highly reputable shop I frequent, with comparable quality jewelry). Fine, whatever, I didn't want to be confrontational in the moment and just wanted to get out after now spending well over an hour here, but that certainly would have been nice to know BEFORE it was too late to turn back. The piercing itself was fairly quick and painless though and Ashley worked with me to find a placement I did like, which I very much appreciated. If it wasn't for the wait and the unexpected costs, this review would be easily 4 stars, if not 5. read more

I came here to get my nipples repierced because the last shop made them crack, but the guy here was really nice and told me that they are cracked and that it'll have risk and recommend that I come back in a few months to see if they heal so I wouldn't risk them cracking and catching an infection. And that alone is very professional and kind and will definitely come back when they're healed. read more

Although my tat turned out well, it took way too long. The first artist was fighting with his girlfriend in the phone and said he had to leave and could not finish my tat. I said what? Have someone else finish it. The second artist was was great! He completely finished my tattoo and I thanked him. The first guy was so unprofessional And not good on time management. We waited for an HOUR before he even started (I don't even know his name because he didn't introduce himself). While we were waiting, he was sitting around waiting for food to be brought back, AND when it was, he ate in front of us. Got my 1st 2 tattoos here. 1 came out good, the other came out terrible to be honest. I told him the style cursive I wanted and he told me he could only do the style fonts that were on the computer. I picked a simple style cursive and it turned out LITERALLY like a teenager practicing cursive on my collar bone. He placed it horribly (I messed up by not making him replace it) and the writing isn't even. Was going to cover it up but it's in the dimple of my collar bone, anything looks stupid there because it's not a flat area. So I have decided I WILL be getting it removed. I wake up EVERYDAY and see it in the mirror and haaaaaate it. Don't get a tattoo by anyone there (or in general) unless they SEEM ACTUALLY INTERESTED, not like they just want your money. So let me say why I only give this place 2 stars. First off they do good work and its due to the people they bring in to work under their name. But I would say in my words of opinion is just to would not get a tattoo that you can't get done in the same day. The reason is and this has been on my mind for months but two people started on my back peace and both left after starting on it and one of them started one that what i was told shouldn't of been started cause it was a tattoo couldn't be mimic off paper. Then not to be judgemental but I could have the third person work on me but the words he said after I asked if he can do what what the second person did since its good what he got done and the third person say " I think I can do it " did not settle with me. The word think is to me a bad word to hear in a place like this. My key word i want to hear is " I can ". So for that reason I only give two stars and sorry but im taking my project some where else. If i could give no stars, I would. So I wanted my tongue pierced and decided to come here. I walk into this dark shop and told them what I wanted, they took me into the piercing room. This "professional, award winning, best in Milwaukee," piercer starts getting the supplies ready. First thing, he did not sterilize or clean the equiptment. Secondly, he proceeded to put the clamp on my tongue web (YES THE PART OF SKIN UNDER YOUR TONGUE)! Any good piercer would know to put the clamp on your tongue. Thirdly, he didn't advise me to cleanse my mouth in any way to remove any potential bacteria. So then he marked my tongue and went in to pierce it, he went through the bottom of my tongue and successfully did it crooked. AFTER, it's time for the jewelry. This man used a regular sized barbell for a freshly new piercing and 2 different sized balls. So imagine having this in your mouth for 2 days. At this point, my tongue was literally being strangled by the jewelry. Which resulted in the top ball sinking INTO MY TONGUE. I do not recommend these "professionals." Go to either Piercings by Lexi in Greenfield, or Avant Garde in West Allis. read more
