The College is actually of Catholic background. Lawd knows if I was attending there would be spontaneous combustion since I am banned from churches, but it's not about me so let me stop. The actual dorms are rather roomy and nice. It was hard to leave my signature when it came to financial portion, but hey the child will have an awesome education, so it will be worth it. The main office is located in the vintage portion of the college, that kind of scared me- but once our tour was started, I quickly saw the newer and safer buildings that were part of the campus. Wow, these kids will have better eats then I did. They have their own restaurant which of course has three courses from breakfast to dinner. Really good and healthy food too. And their gymnasium is pretty big also. I think that I you decide to go here (and it is 3 hours away from Chicago), you will be impressed.

I majored in exercise science and had no other options for a career once I graduated with my undergrad. They did not look out for me or care what happened to me once I graduated. This is not a one time occurrence. Someone close to me was also completely screwed over by Ambrose's DPT program. He had to transfer schools mid-program due to Ambrose's misguided and unfair program. They told him false-promises that resulted in a worse situation for him. He followed all instructions from director, Mike Puthoff, to be able to stay but was thrown out and abandoned without remorse. Overall, Mike Puthoff is a two-faced, unfair, and mediocre program director with DPT passing rates plummeting ever since he took over. He has poor management over instructors in his program and has yet to prove any care towards the students he teaches. The material taught at Ambrose is mediocre at best and needs to be re-evaluated along with their director.

This college looks impressive on paper and during campus tours, which is exactly why my child chose…read moreto attend. Unfortunately, the reality was very different and the decision turned out to be a major mistake. Students are treated more like high schoolers than college adults, with policies and oversight that feel controlling and out of step with what most families expect from a university. The most alarming issue, however, is how the school appears to handle rape and sexual assault. From what we witnessed, the system seems to protect perpetrators far more than it protects victims. Individuals accused of serious misconduct appear to face minimal consequences, while victims can feel ignored, blamed, or even vilified for speaking up. That kind of environment discourages reporting and raises serious concerns about student safety. Drugs and alcohol are also clearly present on campus, yet the systems meant to monitor and address these problems seem ineffective. We did ask questions about safety and student well-being before enrolling and, unfortunately, believed the reassurances we were given. In hindsight, the reality did not match the rhetoric. Overall, the college does a very good job marketing itself and creating a positive first impression. Unfortunately, our experience suggests that the reality behind the brochures is far less reassuring. Families considering this school should ask difficult questions about student safety, accountability, and how serious incidents are actually handled.

Although you create lasting friendships during the coursework... There's not much else positive to…read moresay about this college. You learn the very bare basics about electronics and in most careers in the field, they don't teach you enough to be productive in a business environment. You leave the school thinking you understand the field and confident that you are ready to enter it, however I worked for a small company and a large company in the electronics field and the things I found out that I should have known, but was never taught in the school, had both companies saying nothing but negative things about this school. I graduated with an above average gpa, earned tons of awards, including student of the month, yet I found myself lost when entering the field. Needless to say, I eventually moved on to a different career path. But don't just take it from me, take it from anyone who actually attended this school, and graduated only to find themselves lost. Only a handful of my graduating class were able to attain successful careers, and they were those who had prior experience in the field. The classes are fun. The faculty is great, for the most part. But at the end of the day, you just end up wasting your time getting a tech degree in (what they claim is a thriving field but) what is a career with a sub-par calling due to everyone going to college for some type of degree in electronics and computers (You're better off with an IT degree) and the fact that they give you "broad range" in the electronic field is actually a negative because you become a jack of all trades and master at none, and most of the time you're learning about components and its something you really don't need to know as individual components aren't replaced anymore. Unfortunately it's just my word against theirs and there aren't any other reviews to back myself up. But as an alumni of this school, with multiple acquaintances and friends who have graduated at different times as me, all saying the same as I, it's not just a coincidence Hamilton has the reputation it does in the working world, as opposed to what they'd have you think; at the end of the day, they are a business.... As far as career placement goes, sure they are more than likely able to find you a job the majority of the time, what they don't tell you is that most of those jobs aren't even close to being in or around the quad cities and have less than average starting pay for a technician in their field. Doesn't sound like a big deal? After spending as much time, money and being promised the things they do while getting that degree, you'll realize how crappy of a thing it really is to be offered an interview for a position in Omaha, NE, or further.

It was decided to do a test to see if my hair would take the chemical. It worked out that my hair was good to go. The instructor (E. Sands) told the student (Maddie W.) to shampoo my hair twice and no condition. When we went to the wash bowl, I had to ask the student if she was going to put a drape on me. "Oh yeah need to go get that". Took her 5 minutes to get that and when she returned, she washed my hair and when she was done, I had to sit there with my head in the wash bowl while she went to get a towel came back with 1 towel. Patted my hair dry and then we went back to her station. She didn't know how to section my hair and had the teacher do it for her. The teacher told her since I had bangs to roll from my crown to the front forward. She only rolled the bangs forward and the rest back which explains why I now have trouble styling my hair with my bangs. After the rolling was done the instructor told her to get towels and she came back with 1 towel. Then she was told to get 3 towels. I was given one to hold over my eyes one was put around my shoulders, and one was to hold with putting the solution on. After 10 minutes the hair was checked and then a plastic cap was put on for the remainer of 10 minutes. then went to a wash bowl and she processed to rinse my hair and then was prepared to remove the rollers. Thanks goodness she asked another student who told her she need to rinse for 5 minutes then blot dry my hair and apply the neutralizer. She had to go back to her station and get the neutralizer. She applied it and then I just sat laid back in the sink for the 5 minutes then she rinsed if off and removed the rollers now my hair is dripping wet and she has me sit up but she has NO towels so, while I sit there with water dripping into my face and down my back she goes and gets 1 towel. Pats dry my hair takes the drape off because it is soaking wet along with my shirt on the back. We go back to her station, and I use one of the towels to dry my face. She came back and said the instructor said to condition my hair. Went back to the wash bowl I again have to ask for a drape she had to go get one after putting the conditioner on she once again needs to go get a towel. She comes back with that, and we go back to her station. She uses her dryer with a defuser and then used the dryer to try and dry my shirt since it was still soaking wet. I just wanted to leave. By using the hair dryer, I had to pay for a style, but my hair was not styled. If I plan to return in the future, I am going to have an advanced student that is ready to graduate. When I got home and took off my t-shirt, I could ring out water because it was that wet. Worse Perm experience I have ever had there or a more professional place.
