Such an impressive store! Last night our nice camera got bumped off a dresser in the hotel room and fell right on the heavy lens, jamming the lens filter and cover so they couldn't be opened and we heard little pieces shaking inside. We figured the filter was broken but hoped the lens remained in tact. We found this store on google and headed over. It was about a half hour ride from where we are staying in the old town near the castle (though that was due to construction or traffic as we made it back in under 20 minutes.). We are traveling from the states and speak a little French and even less German, and no Dutch... not enough of anything to speak of camera parts. There were 3-4 workers in the store and the man who came to help us could speak English and was quick to understand the situation. He thought it did not seem very good but immediately went to work. He was able to break the lens cap off (which we told him we expected and was fine because we have an extra and needed to see what had happened anyway. ) While he worked, we looked around the store and they have all the best equipment you could ever need and offered options like rentals too. All the employees seemed friendly and helpful with the customers who came in. After about half an hour or so, he showed us what he had done. He got the lens cap off and the cleaned out every last shard of broken glass from the lens filter, though it was still jammed into the threads of the lens and will take a more significant repair job to get out. He knew we were there on travel and wanted to get back to exploring the city and now I have my camera to use again (a must for Ghent, which is one of the loveliest towns in all of Europe!). We asked how much it would be and he said it was no charge. We were shocked and so appreciative of the time and care he'd put in to helping us and I'm not sure if that's standard or not but we wanted to write a review as we would be very loyal customers if we lived here!
