Great local and regional beers, with great service (they brought by a carafe of water and glasses for us even though we hadn't asked and weren't going to stay longer than it took to drink a beer or two), and great views. That gamble redeemed the evening: a warm slice of saffron cake with berries and whipped cream--absolutely sublime, the kind of dish that lingers in memory. What didn't linger was attentiveness. Not once was I asked if I'd like another drink. In my experience, American service already lags behind much of the world, but here it felt perfunctory. Visby is littered with old buildings and cafes. I suspect most are pretty good but this one seemed the more committed than the rest. Visby is a place where Swedes go to vacation. There is no free or public internet in Sweden. Be sure to ask for the password.

Came here a late friday and was "fortunate enough" to be on the guestlist so we could dodge the line and just stroll in. Line was heavy and it was packed inside. Managed to order from the very crowded bar and ended up with what they classified as a "Vodka sour" without ice. Pity we didnt. Do i have to add they charged premium? Anyway, we tried to get the groove going but it felt like something was missing. After a while i identified what it was, it sounded like they played music from a mobile speaker without any bass. Apparently, i found out the other day, they had complains about it, so they had to shut the bass down to continue run business. But when house/dance music is your ambition, bass is a pretty vital ingredient. But due to poor drinks and "unbeatable" music we left the place after 15 minutes, to find ourselves spending our money somewhere else.
