As a mum with a young baby I am always looking for places that will welcome my family and this includes our son. We like to eat with him at the table and Kalala is a brilliant place to do just this. They are generally very happy to see him when we arrive and always make a fuss, getting him a high chair and balloons to play with. He only eats a little and we have never been asked to pay for the bits we give him to eat. We have even had waitresses taking him for walks around the restaurant and giving him cuddles.
The food is always nice, though doesn't seem to change as often as it used to. There are few variation between visits which has meant that we now don't go quite as often as we have in the past. They are always willing to bring out more food if you ask and I have been known to ask for something that wasn't even out and they will make me up some. I especially like to have plain boiled rice and they always bring me out a bowl full. It is never a problem. The desserts are nice too, I love having their ice cream.
The drinks are waitress served so you never have to go and wait at the bar, they are well priced. All in all it is good value for money.
The decore still looks good as it is well maintained, the bathrooms are always clean. The plates and cutley are always clean too, something that is often over looked in self service places I find. The plates are also kept warm which is a nice touch.
At time it can get rather loud in there, it is a big building (an old banking hall) and so had a bit of an echo. This tends to be on a Friday and Saturday night. read more
