Most of the medical buildings have a coffee kiosk (that also has snacks and/or pre-made salads and sandwiches). The hospital has a large cafeteria and coffee "bistro" that are very good. On nice days there are lovely outdoor areas to sit with benches, tables, foliage, and some have fountains/water features (very peaceful areas to just hang out and relax) Parking is very, very full (almost always) in all of the lots and structures, so give yourself extra time to find a spot!

Jennifer was super rude, dismissive, lacking in eye contact, lacking in kindness, lacking in customer service skills and did not touch or evaluate her pt (my Dad) ONCE. Terrible MD. New to kaiser and lacking trusting characteristics or communication skills.

I've been coming since birth so for 26 years. I was having a chronic health issue with severe pain…read moreand several other issues that are kinda gross to put on here for sensitive readers but it was bad, in my stomach at 19. They told me I was overweight yes clearly I'm a lil overweight we get it and that it was stress classic Kaiser response to young women these days. After 3 years of telling them it's not stress they finally diagnosed me with a severe stomach disease no shocker knew I had something crazy when it started. So at 22 almost 23 it was a constant fight to get an appointment for gastro health it was always over the phone never in person and I have them lists and lists of my issues and that I'm unable to work because I feel like I'm being hit by a truck everyday. I loved to work and I miss it every day. I was wanting Kaiser to improve my health and was asking constant assistance with no care in return. It was shrugged off. Nothing changed I got worse. Also let's not forget during a colonoscopy procedure a nurse used the same needle on me throughout some pokes. I worked in the health field this is very bad in so many ways Expecially to older people whom are more prone. I did report it to Kaiser tho but watch out. So at 26 I lost my parents insurance obviously we know how that goes and they wanted me to come back. I did not. I now goto OHSU for my gut health and the in person appointment was absolutely breathtaking it made me cry pure joy. There was several doctors who sat me down made a plan made me feel like I wasn't making my issues up and was ready to help nuke and solve all the problems I am now in better care within months at OHSU and feeling better along with starting a job. Kaiser never did that in the 26 years I was with them. If u are young Kaiser DOES NOT CARE FOR U. If they say it's stress or overweight please leave them. Trust your body take care of it get another opinion. I felt like my life was over at Kaiser. Not anymore at OHSU

Hi have been a client/patient at Kaiser for over 20 years. I used to love Kaiser, but boy have…read morethey gone downhill. I'm not looking forward to shopping for health insurance this coming fall. But looks like it's time to move to a better medical situation... The issues begin with just trying to make an appointment. Recently, I was referred to a gastroenterologist. I go to the "schedule an appointment" page and there are zero appointments available. I tried the rest of March and the entirety of April AND May. there was not a single appointment available. I write to my doctor's office and say, "hey look, I am not able to schedule an appointment through the website. Can you tell me where to call, or have them call me?" NO REPLY. So now here I sit, super-duper looking forward to my upcoming sashay through Kaiser's perpetually-broken automated answering service. Yes, the one where the system cannot understand my birthday whether i use my voice or keypad to enter it. **UPDATED TO ADD: i called Kaiser after writing this to make an appointment by phone. THERE WERE NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE. So at this time, I am unable to get the care recommended by my doctor. I'm also not happy with how my coverage changed once I retired. Suddenly, everything costs more. why??? i've been paying into this system for so long I should be a stockholder. Now that i've retired, the prices have skyrocketed. Thanks for that. Then I get a bill for over $1700. I was unable to set up a payment plan, so a Kaiser person went into the system and set the payments up for me. The following month, the payment schedule was still not working and I ended up paying the whole chunk at once. Excuse me, but that is a LOT of money for anybody to come up with. I also realized a while ago that my primary care physician is more of a conduit to other doctors, or to lab tests rather than somebody who actually knows what is happening in my body. Also, when I go in, or make an appointment...well, the appointments are SHORT (20 minutes) so I have to be very clear about which single issue i want to tackle at that time. Then make another appointment if there is an additional issue that needs to be addressed. Maybe this works for most people, but I believe my issues are related, so this kind of piecemeal approach to health care really doesn't work.

Everyone was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and they made a concerted effort to quickly assess my needs. I later met with Dr David Benjamin who patiently worked with me to diagnose my condition. Diagnostic tests were ordered and I was asked to wait in a private waiting room until the results became available, no more than 20 minutes later. I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency of the emergency department. Their hard work and professionalism really helped calm my nerves, and made me feel as if I were in capable hands. No one wants to visit the emergency room, for any reason, but I'm happy to know I can expect the best care possible if I should ever find myself here again.

Initially, they got him in right away at 5 a.m. Then once they assessed him and gave him some pain meds, they told him to wait in the Lobby with no shoes and one of their blankets. He was freezing and doped up. He had been vomiting violently for more than 12 hrs and was diagnosed with Shingles on his backside the day before, so sitting was extremely painful. He had to lie down on one of the benches in the waiting area. When we told him he was in a lot of pain and was getting nauseous again, they put us in some small room, seemed like a closet with a broken chair, not a triage room with a bed to lie on, to wait. After almost 2 hrs, one gal came in to take him for a test. Then we waited for another 3 hrs while not one person came to check on him. I'll stand outside the room and ask for any updates or ETA and a water refill. An hour later, nothing, no one. I asked again, can I get him some water? Nothing. And it was not bc the Dr. said no water. They said, " Sorry, we are just so busy. Folks, there were maybe 15 people who came through in those 6 hrs. 15. There were at least a dozen nurses working. My hubby could not take sitting there anymore. He had already missed 2 of his prescribed antivirals, and it was getting close to noon. I finally said Come and take out his IV; we are leaving. I need to get him home. If we are just waiting for test results, then we will wait at home. I get being busy. What I don't get is ignoring patients' needs and blaming it on being busy when I can see there were not that many people there. What I don't get is being ignored for 5 hrs in a closet. So disappointing. Do better!!!!!

From the person who took my call and got us scheduled for an hour later and who talked up Dr. Wagoner, who had an opening since his PCP was not available, to the front desk checking us in and the MA who was so efficient and pleasant, and then Dr. Wagoner herself. I can't begin to thank her and her team there for quickly recognizing how sick my son was and for orchestrating an amazing and fast outpatient workup and even getting him directly admitted so we could avoid having to sit in a busy ED for hours. She and the team organized getting him into a CT immediately and even coordinated with the Lab so that he only had to get poked once for an IV and they drew the necessary labs at the same time! Dr. Wagoner called us after the CT to say she was reviewing it with a radiologist and would coordinate any next steps that may be needed and call me back. She was ALL OVER IT! And kept us updated and reassured. As a worried mom, watching my kiddo get this sick for the first time ever, I am so grateful for her help and for the reassurance and efficiency. My son was hospitalized at Providence St. Vincent's Pediatric floor for 3 days and though it is not something I ever want him (or us) to go through again, he is out of the hospital now and nearly back to normal. I know it can't always work out this well, but it felt like everything was a well oiled machine and this Dr. and clinic team took care of our son and family so well. I highly highly recommend them. Thank you all and Bless you!

Editing the review. I initially compared trying to contact your doctor for something immediately…read moreserious to going to the DMV. This was not a good comparison because when you go to the DMV or call or contact them, they DMV will help you. But if you are having a serious problem and need help from 'your care team' at Providence you would be better off going to the DMV for help. They actually treat you, an actual patient of the clinic, like a cold-calling salesperson trying to sell them something they do not want or need. They have no time to deal with your medical problems. Providence used to have the best care. Something happened. ..... Finally day of doctor appointment with physician's assistant came - almost 2 weeks after serious and debilitating health issue. PA arrived 40 minutes after appointment time. The PA said what the person told me on the phone was wrong and started arguing with me and upset I sought alternative health care. PA said when you call in you call in to a call center somewhere in the country. That is new. PA was also flustered and wasn't listening to what I was saying. She said she was running late and didn't have anymore time for me (she was in the office for 15 minutes maybe). I did get a referral and some imaging, but she didn't address the entirety of what my problem was. Hoping the referral will help me. I would advise people to go somewhere besides a Providence clinic for health care, unless you are in perfect health and expect to be forever. They can deal with that.
