Attorney Heather Pauls, and her legal assistant Sarah, are the dream team for when you need to join…read morethat club you never wanted to be a part of. I rarely write reviews, but this dynamic duo deserve all the praise I can give! Their professionalism, knowledge, support and sense of calm during the most stressful time in my life was everything I needed to help guide me through. Whenever I had a question (constantly) or was confused (regularly) they both took the time to carefully explain every step of the process and clearly lay out the plan. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed with them by my side. As an added bonus, they both have wicked and witty and hilarious responses for those times when you feel like there is nothing to do but cry. They empathize with the pain you are in and they work hard to help you get to a better place. You are not "just a client" to them. From my initial consultation, to gathering the copious required documents, to receiving the final decree, to being taken back to court for a child support issue, Heather was kind and personable, and communicated with me promptly so that I always felt like I had options and support. The entire process was reminiscent of the Never Ending Story, but kudos to them, they never once blocked or ghosted me! Heather exceeded my expectations in every way. She is brilliant and thoughtful and tenacious when necessary, and she went way beyond what I could have hoped for in a lawyer. She looked out for me and gave excellent advice. I trusted her implicitly every step of the way. She became a friend and she is the one great thing to come out of all of this craziness. Well, Sarah makes it two great things! 10/10 do not recommend a divorce ..... BUT, if you must, 10/10 recommend Heather & Sarah to be your sidekicks!

Although the lawyers from Ruder Ware with whom we worked are nice young men, NICE just didn't cut…read moreit! Our case was a simple right/wrong issue where our neighbors refused to act responsibly. We had dozens of pictures and several videos showing the damage to our property caused by extensive roof water coming from our neighbors' downspouts. Instead of all our pictures and videos being presented to the judge up-front, our legal counsel submitted a very small number of photos and NO videos. He chose to focus on a case law that was not exactly related to the water issue we were experiencing. During a prehearing zoom meeting, the Dunn County judge focused on that case law and used the wrong names of the parties involved showing that he was not familiar with our case. After his remarks about that case law, the judge stated he was dismissing the case due to lack of evidence! Our legal counsel said NOT A WORD! He said NOTHING about the judge's confusion or that there were a lot more pictures plus videos to be presented at the hearing. So after a year and a half of legal fees, we did NOT have our day in court, and to this day we are still experiencing the water damage from our neighbors' roof water in spite of all the measures and expense we have put forth to stop the damage.

He was able to meet with us and explain the various forms we would need in addition to the Will (e.g. POA, burial instructions, HIPAA, etc.). He also explained dividing up assets, trusts and the Medicaid question. It is all combined into various packages, and you chose which package you feel fits your situation the best. If you have questions or concerns regarding finances and real estate for example, he can address those, too. Even though he doesn't have a physical office, he can meet you. We had him meet us at the senior center in Eau Claire. Of course, if you don't want to meet in person, he is still quite happy to work with you. I think he has a kind disposition for dealing with Seniors and their needs. He has a genuine personality and keeps their best interests at heart. I think he knows they are a vulnerable segment of society, and I appreciate the time and effort he put into protecting my mom's final wishes.
