It is in the basement of a house and has a few tables inside and plenty of seats outside, they serve excellent coffee under the supervision of the talented Finnish Barista Champion Kalle Freese. The coffee has been from Blue bottle in San Francisco but upon my last visit it was instead from Square Mile. Nice to see some variety in what is offered. When Kalle is working they do hand brewed coffee but there is also espresso based beverages as well as batch brewed filter coffee. They also have some wine on offer. The setting is very nice and relaxing and the service is pleasant albeit a bit slow. They do some very nice pastries and a real fresh and nice brunch with yogurt, fruit and granola, avocado on toast and a 63 degree egg. A place well worth visiting before they close at the end of Summer (hopefully they open next summer again).

It has gotten a fair amount for good publicity lately, and fair not, this gem also delivers. The atmosphere is happy and positive, and of course you get excellent coffee here. A café run by the passion for the art and making everyone happier deserves every one of the five stars. Any criticism? Not really. Arrive by bike, as there isn't much parking around. Swedish micro roaster…read moreJohan & Nyström added their second coffee place in Helsinki at the airport, just outside the SAS lounge. They offer 2 options for hand brews (usually one African and one from South America or Asia) as well as espresso based and batch brew. The staff here are perhaps not the same type of experts as at the showroom they have in the center but still can manage a good cup of coffee. I usually opt for Aeropress as it is difficult to screw that up and the beans used are good. Prices are a bit on the high side but it is after all an airport so I am just glad that they opted for a quality addition to the selection. I actually usually think this airport location beats the one in Terminal 2 in Stockholm but it is perhaps not as good as the Terminal 4 one in Stockholm. That said it is my go to place for coffee and sandwiches when at the airport in Helsinki.
